Car-spotting thread

A fawn ran into my Maverick yesterday in the snow. Driver's door, glancing blow after I swerved. Two dents, one from the skull, one from the body. I think they will PDR out. But of course I have one spot of cracked paint about an inch long. So now I'm worried about corrision due to moisture and salt. It's definitely down to metal (the cracked paint feels very thick). Anyone want a gently used Mav?? @UtahJoe.

I sense the GTI scenario coming.

Is it possible to fill the crack and and then polish it down? Like the Langka process?

Maybe. I'll have to assess after PDR. I'm hoping popping the panel back out doesn't cause paint to flake off. We shall see. The guy I used in Manville who was amazing seems to be temporarily closed. Hopefully he's got a recommendation for me.

I think I'll put a piece of packing tape over it for now? I don't think that's a bad idea...

it is a total loss - collect the insurance, and I'll give you fair scrap value.

God I hope the fawn was unhurt

This happened to my focus around 2014.... tractor trailer ran over a chunk of concrete and it went flying up and hit the side of my door... I was going to get it fixed but I probably spent the money on bike stuff instead... never did anything with this and it's just been bare metal exposed for the last 11 years in the salt and never being washed... Still just surface rust after all these years
