Car-spotting thread

Yesterday this guy pulled up in the local park with his pup. These things always look cool but once you see them compared to the size of regular US cars I’d be afraid to drive one and get crushed by a Nissan leaf or a Prius or even that Honda civic.

Interesting thought coming from a guy who does a ton of road bike miles. 🙂

This is one of my dream cars even if I’m mostly a Chevy guy. I like the prior generation body style a little better but this one was very clean and sounded wicked. Got a little rev limiter sound when i gave him a thumbs up. Woke up everyone in the parking lot that’s for sure LOL.

Continued. The last car was fully custom. I think it was a plymouth.

The mustang was a california special.

My daughter is 16 and will be driving next year. My dad had a car he was tired of and needed room for another one. So this happened. '15 SLK250.

slk250.jpg

We flew down on Friday, then spent 2 days driving back. Stopped at the insane Buc-ee's in SC ("this is the most American thing ever"), stayed at a cool hotel in Durham, NC (https://21cmuseumhotels.com/durham/), watched (her)/listened to (me) the Dutch GP, picked up some Aprilia RS250 parts in VA. Daughter was in charge of music. Music accompaniment included the Beatles, Elvis, 2Pac, Rihanna, AC/DC, Green Day, My Chemical Romance, and Lana del Rey. The kid likes a lot of music.

The top hadn't been dropped for years and I didn't want to risk it (the trunk was too packed anyway), so we endured about 15hrs of squeak-squeak-squeak on every road that wasn't perfectly smooth. Once home, 5 minutes with some rubber conditioner fixed it.

Nice gift from grandad!
