front subframe on rear unibody, but he has a rear independent, trailing link suspension.
front subframe replaced for the restomod.
Not sure if they cross plated underneath, but there are upper cross braces.

i'd bet some rust developed under the trim. mine had rust in the upper corners of both sides of the windshield
@Santapez it's on a Speedtech track time subframe. Probably time to check all the bolts and tune the gas shock adjustments. It still has the cocktail shakers on each corner which are only in soft tops, but can save a 200 lbs by removing.

damn, I thought the rear was independent!
wonder how they reinforced the shock towers for springs?

It's welded and bolted to the frame In the rear. When I work on replacing the power top struts I'll take some pics. There's another model with a single frame which is stiffer, but an active rear seems to be popular for people wanting to track their cars which is what it was made for. But on a convertible, it's not the right application.

Probably way nicer than stock. But looking at that I don't see much that would add any twisting strength to the frame.

You probably have very stiff springs and the car is lowered....great for handling, not so great for a smooth ride

I used to have south side traction bars on my mustang.....they were great for doing burnouts as it eliminated wheel hop....but they made the car ride like shit.
