On a more personal note….

My BBC 408 is back home after over a year at the engine shop…

We took a ~300hp stock 402, gave it freshening and some modest mods and it turned 417hp at 5300rpm and 455ft lbs torque at 3650rpm

Now I’m waiting on the trans than all the nickle and dime stuff to put it back in…

This week, I reassembled the steering, fuel and brake lines…

I had a '70 Chevelle SS396 with a 402 that bored itself out to a 414 that I bought for $1600. It was still running, but when I pulled the pistons the rings fell off in multiple pieces. I was fresh out of high school so had no money, ever hear of knurled pistons? 😳 Found a used solid lifter cam and had a dual points distributor, it ran pretty good on Front Street. Posted this before, but it's the only pic I have left.
