Car-spotting thread

I posted a while ago that my brother bought a stock '55 Chevy. He just sent me a picture of the new engine that he built for it. It's a 383 with ~380hp that is built to look like the stock motor. Aluminum camel hump heads and manifold but painted. He is going to keep the stock motor in storage and not make any non- reversible mods. The stock 265ci had about 165hp so a bit of an upgrade. 😁

That’s pretty cool. But I assume that means he needs to make some suspension changes or at least upgrade the brakes with all the extra HP?

These were so bad that I don't remember anyone driving one in HS in the late 80s. Rare to see one in the wild as 99% are probably scrap metal for sewer grates.

I mean all american cars from this time period were junk, under powered, terrible build quality....but im still mind blown how they got a 5.0L down to 139hp and a L-82 350 vette to 180hp....truly impressive levels of suck lol.

well navy fed is only available to military (active or retired) or fed govt employee or any of their spouses (i have no clue if you meet that or not, just sharing the intel)
I have a navy federal account through my wife, who has one through her mom, who has one through her brother. My kids both have them too. Not to sure how far removed from the actual person in the military you can get with this chain though.
