Car-spotting thread

So middle son is heading out for another 2 month tour so the owner of the Ford dealer that we know let him store the ST at his warehouse the catch was he had to drive it there 2.5 hours away in PA on Friday and he asked me to take the ride with him. Of course It poured rain the entire time and the back country roads of that area were totally sketchy. The ST handled the roads very well I was pretty impressed with the ride quality.

Since the owner is a family friend and lives .5 miles from me he drove us back. And since he owns the dealership he drove us back in a 2020 Raptor with only 24K miles (for sale only 60K. ). Aside from being loud with the stock
Offroad-ish Tires it also rode pretty nice for what it is on the highway.

Crappy pics because nighttime and rain but we did have some small windows of random sunshine between the downpours and I caught a few car pics along the way since son was driving.

Ran into this near the split rock reservoir. This one took me a little while to figure out....i was pretty sure it was late 40s/early 50s looking at the bumper....but this thing had been being used as a fire pit for sometime now, wasnt much left

This reminds me of forensics files for cars, lol

Spent the weekend down in Austin for the #USGP. My 3rd time there. We camped out for the whole weekend.

I love F1, but I was really blow away by the IMSA Porsche Carrera Cup Race. They ran 35-40 second slower lap times, but it was nose to tail racing in each of the events.

F1 wise, both Verstappen, Perez and Hamilton drove the wheels off the car (subsequently the skid plate for Hamilton). Turn 6 is where we watched the race from, directly below the Texas Flag, we would watch the cars go buy, then turn around to watch the TV coverage on the screen.

Was above 90* all weekend. Friday being the hottest at 97*

Looks awesome!

How was the overall experience as a spectator? I've been to a few F1 races (Montreal a couple of times, Indianapolis, Spa) and there's definitely a wide range in terms of organization, ease of getting to and from the track, viewing locations.

We had GA passes, so we could go anywhere around the track. Gotta get seats/space early for events. Plenty of vendors, access points in and out of the track were easy. Signs to direct you, a race app, and plenty of off race/practice activities. We talked next time to get actual seats in the grandstands.
