Car-spotting thread

Not surprised. You are in Florida!
I was going to hit you up and get your take on this but the all black didn’t do it for me but it seems like they did the right mods to address factory issues.

Missed by like 3 spots. Hyundai’s are future collector cars

16 and 17 I'd be concerned with oil consumption motor with such low mileage. Mine didn't start until after 8K miles. Most show by 10K

Back to cruising again. Always takes a few minutes to get used to the clutch again. I thought one of those hideous Fisker Karmas was coming up behind me - turned out it was an Aston Martin convertible. Florida white of course. The front is really bad

That’s such bullshit.

I am expecting the worst when I contact my guy at Honda and ask about my lease return which is not due until June 2022. Refuse to pay any market premium they can SAD.

but I’m already looking into buying it off the lease for the first time after leasing 7 previous ones because it’s a 2019 with only 17K miles.

How is anybody OK with this? Does anybody really need a new car bad enough to pay a 27% surcharge just because they feel they can? That's probably one of the biggest scumbag car dealer moves ever.

I think few people are ok with this. But that's also why my 2019 GLI with 16K miles is worth $22,000 when I paid $20,700 for it brand new. Trickle down.

I got most angry about the chrome plate frames and the window etch. The plate frames are the plastic dealer frames. I have huge arguments about these: unless you are paying me to advertise on MY car, get them off immediately. Now they are charging for it.

I love having the window etch argument. I already pay for comprehensive insurance on the car. If it's stolen and parted out I DON'T WANT THE CAR BACK. I want it totalled out. And the charge is not to etch the windows; it's to register the etch number and VIN with the etch company. When we were buying my mom's CX-5, it was etched as part of PDI and they wouldn't take off the $399. I told them I'll pay the $399 if the dealer paid the comprehensive portion of the insurance every year as I don't need to be over-insured. We went back and forth and eventually we got up to leave. The SM stopped us and took $300 off the price of the car and threw in all-season floor mats and a free oil change. Morons.

Thankfully, there was no one in the lot at VW or I would have being yelling at the poor salesman.

And what happens or options to fix if that happens and out of the factory warranty period. Or no fix and keep feeding it oil as needed?

Yeah I'm OK with them saying the market is crazy and they can tack on $10k. But the other stuff is just a plain scam. But even if it works 1/20 of the time all the way it's pure profit. And if anything it's a negotiation tactic, you're now arguing as a customer down from those charges plus negotiating on the base price.

When I bought my Hyundai Accent the car was around 9k and they had a 1k surcharge for door edge guards among other BS. I lead the conversation with "I'm interested in this car, but if you even mention that line item I'm walking out". It was never brought up once by them and they didn't even try to slide it in.
