Car-spotting thread

I mean not you personally, but dealing in cash.....drive the car down the road 1 mile and it falls apart, your fucked....car turns out to be stolen..fake title.....insert 100 other scenarios....you are fucked....at least with a cashiers check you can usually stop payment. Then of course carrying that much cash around, just DUMB lol. I mean makes for good internet pictures I guess? Its like...lets remove all security protections that were invented for the safe transfer of large amounts of money.

Take the reverse side though. What if you sell a perfectly good car as-is (like 99% of private sales), and the guy over-revs the motor 1 mile down the street and decides to stop payment on the cashiers check? Who's screwed then? All of my private sales (like the M3 and the Vette) are done cash only.

Bill of sale.... meet at the bank with the cashier's check.... there are a hundred ways to do this that makes way more sense for either side than carrying piles of cash

what are you celebrating for? youll be long dead by that point! 🤣
seriously, @Carson will be alone in a old folks home telling the other blue haired ladies about this porsche he used to have.

im actually donating it to the petersen museum in LA......for $1.

funny, I was asked last week if I would like to have my car as part of a display at a trade show for a certain company you all would know.......In one sense I thought that was pretty cool....then im like...wait...its 3 days...im not going to sit there and babysit it and I sure as fuck wouldnt leave it....why would I do this exactly? lol.

Crazy. When I sold the '70, it turned out that NJ had put the wrong VIN on the title 28 years ago when I bought it. I never noticed it. It was clearly wrong since the VIN didn't have enough numbers, and the one missing was the zero denoting the zero in "1970". I was very lucky that the guy who bought it was really good natured and was able to straighten it all out during the Covid mess. In NJ this could have gone bad in a hurry.
