I'm late, pontiac Astre.
Was Jed from the beverly hillbilly's driving the truck?
Tail lights are the giveaway.I thought it was a Chevy Vega at first.
I had a '71 Vega. Best car EVER jk. I bought it with a bad engine in '77 for $75, had 4 new michelin radials and about 40k on the ticker. I had the block bored for free while at worked at Barnes chevy in summit. This was the first automotive engine rebuild for me. I drove it for 3 years with never any problems. Sold it for $150 when I thought I needed a truck. Never burned a drop of oil, the manual trans was an Opel piece, it shifted great. The later years had GM transmissions that were clunky.Tail lights are the giveaway.
My first car was a 74 Vega GT. My parents bought it new in June of 74, it was black with white GT stripes and black vinyl interior. Non-power assist steering and brakes. In deference to my mother not wanting to drive a manual anymore, my father bought an automatic, which was the sole option.
This was one of the non-sleeved aluminum motors that became legendary for their ability to burn oil. In the fall of 82 my father bought a Buick 231ci V6/Turbo 350 combo out of a wrecked Monza, and we did the engine swap in the tiny garage of our split-level house. I had just turned 16 and it was a tremendous learning experience.
I took the car over as my daily driver in 84 and drove it until the summer of 86, and we sold it to a guy from South Amboy, I think for $500.

South Amboy sounds right. Probably still there somewhere.
This dude just bought this shell. After his Pinto caught fire and burned last month. Lol can't make it up.

what was the ticket for? Was that 202?
LOL he could have gotten 10 summonses. I issued one summons for unsafe vehicle, had him park it to move his life possessions around so his view was unobstructed to the right, told him to drop off his Aspre at his buddies house in Croton and to pick it up in the future with a flatbed wrecker, and sent him on his way with the warning that in the future if he tries to drive around looking out of a porthole I will be impounding his life possessions.
Not 202. I let the kids play on 202 all day every day. I hang in the business areas and neighborhoods. It was Hart Blvd between Commerce St and 202/31.
