Car-spotting thread

Had to stop for this one during my ride sinxr
It’s for sale. I didn’t go around back of it but I think it’s like an 83-84 with wheels from an 85 on it. It it was the turbo one it would have SVT or something on the side I think.

Paint looked really good like it’s been in the garage since I ride this road all the time and have never seen it before today.

He’s got it for 6K on the for sale sign but if it’s not a GT or Turbo then it’s boring

Even if it's a GT, it's boring.

I had an '82 that I swapped my '90 EFI 5.0/trans into. 5-lug disk swap all the way around.

Still a dog. And handled like the 70's Ford car it was even being super light.

Didn't those wheels come out in '87? Maybe I'm thinking the turbines.

I did not. I didn't have the patience for that. To do it right, they need to be pulled, deep cleaned, dried, and coated. And in 100 miles they'll be covered in brake dust again. Even my OCD has limits.

Isn't your car wrapped in some kind of protective film?

yes I figured that. I tried a ceramic product on my wheels and it last maybe a month - lost cause. I hear different pads significantly reduce the dust - might give that a shot when I get the tires changed.

Today’s ride sightings.

corvette with some front body damage looks fixable. Was parked at a local repair shop but it was kinda rough shape. Not my favorite body style in general.

Then up the road this scout at a local body repair shop in Long valley that always has something cool out front or in the garage.

This looks like a long term restoration project.

Yes, between the heat and the brake dust, CC the wheels is a lost cause, IMO.

You going with SC2 or MP4S for new rubber?

Anyone want to split this with me? It's the perfect spec for me. 4.0L, right color, not too many options, sofa seats, front axle lift. Think the market on these will tank? Or the people with money will always have money?

That would be fun - can you give me a guaranteed "get out of jail free" card for life? If so, I'm in!

Looks like an 82 vette, not worth restoring since they are pretty worthless.....The scout on the other hand.

ya turbines were around 87, the 10 holes were 85ish...not stock on the car in the pic.

On the road at 5am this morning. Scary AF for like 1.5 hours in the pitch black in a new car. Sun came up just as I pulled off for gas. Got 2 sections of video in daylight and then got the heck outta dodge.

And got pulled over of course. I actually wasn't screwing around that bad for NJ standards, but I was in VA. And I got stopped at 36 over. So I'm pretty that's the Death Penalty. Nice knowing you all.
