Anyone have a recommendation for a company for Business Insurance? Just received my renewal notice with a 20% increase for no reason.

What line?
How long have you been with them?
Have you had any claims?

I would be reaching out to my broker and ask to be remarket'd. If your broker won't do it call another and have them shop any policy not subject to short rate cancelations fees. Every fucking body is hungry for sales right now with the rate of cancelations due to lack of new business and closures. You should be able to get a sore dick deal just be vigilant of your limits and coverage as that's were sales folks with save you money without your awareness.

Which insurance? CGL or E&O ?

General liab and property. I just spoke to them. They said I was misclassified as Sporting Goods which doesn't include repairs. For 25 years? It's been renewed through the same agents.

New phone call. They are now looking into it. One agent sold the business to another. Somehow this is costing me 20%.

No claims in at least 20 years. Might have been one or two before that.

It's through Selective.

Have a private convo with @jdog to compare rates.

I read an article where people are going to start suing businesses as their source of covid-19, and it could stick.
there is no insurance exclusion for a virus (it isn't bacteria, mold, or pollution) - so the insurance co could be vulnerable.
they are most likely reviewing every open business.

good luck - this blows.

I use Merchants Insurance Group for my contracting business. Have never had to file a claim, so I can't attest to that part, but their rates were way better than what my longtime agent quoted me. www.merchantsgroup.com

Since I have pulmonary issues I figure if a customer catches Covid from me, I'll proably be dead before they are.

It's important to understand what kind of insurance you're considering. The main thing is to evaluate the business and choose the right insurance product. It's important to understand what kind of insurance you're considering. The main thing is to evaluate the business and choose the right insurance product. It`s also worth knowing that if a novice businessman wants to take a loan from a bank, to start a business, the bank will take care of the safety of assets, which will serve as collateral. In this case, drawing up a business insurance policy will be a prerequisite. In addition, factoring companies are also useful https://factorforyou.com/florida-factoring/, especially at the beginning of the process.

That insurance exclusion you mentioned (bacteria, mold pollutant) is regarding environmental exposure at the workplace to something like toxic mold. Pandemics are generally not covered by insurance regardless of the pathogen. Someone claiming they contracted a highly communicable disease at work - especially during a pandemic - has to clear a high burden of proof that they got it at work AND the workplace was not following CDC mitigations.
