Bring a Trailer - OMFG or On Topic

That doesn't surprise me a bit. Some years ago I saw a similar eBay listing for a 69 Charger with a $9999 BIN price. It looked even worse than this car - BUT - it had a VIN plate and a matching title. THAT is what you're buying. Everything else can be fixed.

I remembered Dynacorn was selling re-pop Challenger shells a few years ago but have since discontinued them. After a bit of google-fu, I found a discussion that said they only made 57 of them and it took them years to sell them all. General consensus in that discussion was YTF did they make new Challenger bodies when 68-70 Chargers are far more popular? Gotta agree with that sentiment...

As far as importing a Panda - really hard to say right now with all of the political crap going on right now. There are some JDM/Euro importers in the East Coast area you might try. Shipping cost used to be around $1000 for a typical small car, but I've heard that has gone up.
Ya, that's certainly a big factor...although with 67 mustangs, the fastback shell has value....the VIN is important, for sure...but like, what motor it came...with the exception of maybe a 68 CJ car....doesnt really matter....Custom 67/68 mustangs are worth more than originals....They usually take S code mustangs like mine (original big block cars) and tear them apart to make those Eleanor abominations, sell them for 2.5 times the value. Crazy.

Not surprised to hear that about the challengers.... while I love them....problem with making a dynacorn anything.....You really need a strong custom market like whats happening with the Eleanor cars and the bronco recreations. Challengers are just not as popular (to me is a good thing) and they are just not as valuable outside of original hemi/440 6pack cars...like you can find decent complete challengers for 20-30k....so to spend $20k on a shell that will need another $20,000 in paint, plus the other million things it takes to build a complete car....when you can buy a really nice one for 60-70k....Like there isnt the $250,000 custom challenger market like there is with Eleanor mustangs....for example...classic cars.com....Like these are good dynacorn candidates.....still shocks me the money they ask/get for these things.

2020 Challenger with a B-body Charger Daytona carbon fiber re-body. Wow...

Bid to $224K as I post this with ~4 hours left and reserve not met. The proportions are a bit off compared to an actual 68-70 Charger, but still cool to look at. Shame about the automatic transmission... Cars like this can be tough to sell and not lose a shit-load of money. The buyer has to really agree with the builder's design choices since anyone who can afford to buy this car can probably afford to commission the builder to create exactly what they would want - which is pretty much what I'd do if I wanted this car and had the $$$$ to spend on it. How much? Being built-to-order, probably around half-a-million isn't hard. I found a similar car with an asking price of $368K.
ehhhh...ok, its not "terrible", but as you said...the proportions are an issue. All modern cars are just built totally different than 60s cars....the doors on a modern charger are probably twice as tall as a 68....that nose cone looks twice as tall...and god, just plain old standard new charger interior. And you can buy a real, restored superbird/charger daytona for that kind of money....and ya, at shop prices, I could see this thing costing 500k to build

plus this is still an automatic trans - what fun is that for all that $$$?

Yep. The automatic is definitely a deal-killer for me with that car. Personally, I think the regular Charger conversions look better than the Daytona - mainly due to that awkward nose. I'm 99% sure the need to maintain the OEM Challenger headlights limits the options.

Also agree with Joe about just building a resto-mod of an original B-body Charger would net similar driving results for similar money and better appearances. There are also enough aftermarket parts available to DIY-build a 68-70 Charger to get similar results for much less money, although maybe not with show-winning appearances. However, for a car to actually drive that might not be a bad thing. So many of these custom cars cost so much to build they end up as trailer-queens that never get driven on the street.

Gotta wonder if it would be worth more with the original body & engine which are apparently still around according to their documentation.
This is basically a Ferrari restomod.
