Biking New Years resolutions

The baby is killing me, lol. I haven't been able to get out on the bike since he was born. I'm stuck running or getting on the trainer either after the older one is asleep, or before he wakes up, so that my wife doesn't have to deal with both at once while I'm gone. It's tough because the two year old is trying to get as much attention as the newborn lately, lots of crying and acting out. The last two days haven't been terrible, hopefully he's getting over it.

There's a gym with a pool about 3 miles away, I just have to get there and join. They have hours early in the morning and late at night so I should be able to sneak out while the little ones are sleeping. I took a swimming class in college so I'm not too worried about the water, just need to get somewhere decent at it.

Once the newborn starts sleeping more than 2 or 3 hours at a time during the night, I should be able to get in a 430am and 8pm workout in. Right now I'm too tired for morning workouts. Night time is tough too, but easier than trying to get out of bed.

I have no idea what to wear for a tri, lol. There's a place called Aistriu (translates to: transition) near me. I'm assuming they should know a thing or two about triathlons so I'll probably check them out for advice and gear.
Either getting a baby nurse for the first few weeks and/or a stay at home nanny, will help with the nights and getting out in the mornings. Neither are cheap, but helped a ton with those bat shit crazy mornings with two parents trying get to work on time. I know a bunch of people who found neighbors with in-law parents who were interested in making a couple bucks.

i'm late to the party, but what the hell...i have a pretty short list:
  • meditate
  • eat less crap, only drink good beer
  • ride > 6K miles, all outdoor
  • do more push ups & planks (core strength training to avoid herniated disk issues)
  • organize monthly local (North Edison/Metuchen/South Plainfield) trail maintenance sessions (hit me up if anyone is interested!).
