Anybody know of any decent trails near north Conway/Bartlett. Hiking mt Washington tomorrow and my wife and I brought the bikes.

dude - head out the Kancamangus highway towards Lincoln, theres a really nice day area that a great swimming hole on the river - then if you go towards Lincoln there are a few places to bike - Grelley Ponds trail is bikable and a great rail trail to a killer water fall is really sweet and a fun ride through the woods - its closer to Lincoln and across from Hancock campground - there a big visitor center at trail head - great area ! what trail are you taking to top of Mount Washington?

The Greeley pond trail was singletrack - been a few years and not sure how bikable it still is...

Clarify - Greeley Ponds is one trail and then further to Lincoln is the rail trail to water falls - if you are with your wife that's my recomendation - the ride in the car on the Kanc is beautiful too

Rez had some awesome info on the area. Ill be there in august for a week. Cant wait

I'm pretty sure there is an IMBA Epic ride in Conway. Word is that the trails are dope, but you need a local to find your way.

Don''t forget that Highland is in NH.

One of my favorite trials anyhwere is the “Red Tail Trial” (http://trails.mtbr.com/cat/united-st...5_4563crx.aspx) on Black Cap (part of Cranmore). There is also some nice stuff off the KANCAMAGUS HIGHWAY on bear notch road. (http://trails.mtbr.com/cat/united-st..._00_50crx.aspx). There is place called “Sticks and Stones” right in town that has a pump track and a bunch of easy obstacles. And if you like DH go to Attitash ski area. It blows Mountain Creek away and when they say double black diamond, believe them. As they have tamed the trails down in the last few years. When they first started DH some of the stuff was sick scary.
Rob Adair runs the NEMBA chapter and there have a bunch of group rides.(M, W & F)

I will also agree with Shoogs by going to Red Jersey Cycle. As they will help you out with any of your needs. The owners name is Carl and he a real down to earth guy.

Places to eat:
- Red Parka (somewhat affiliated to the Red Jersey)
- The Cider House
- The Inn at Thorn Hill & Spa ($$$) http://www.innatthornhill.com/
- Margarita Grill (excellent)
margaritagrillnh.com/

You also need to hit the:
pearl izumi outlet
Louis Garneau outlet
EMS outlet

A local trick to avoid traffic is to use Thorn hill Rd & Rt16A as they both run parallel to Rt 16. As traffic is a bitch during tourist season.

The trials near my house in Campton are all local knowledge trails and almost impossible to send someone. But if you hook up with any local bike shop they usually can send you somewhere depending on your ability. As some of the stuff is pretty techy as alot of the trails were made by pro riders or guys like me who don't care about destroying my body.

If you need anymore help feel free to send me a PM. as i will up there from 23rd to the 26th. And I will be stopping on my way up to ride Highland on the 23rd

Thanks!, we are going to head to the margarita grill, right now on your recommendation. I'll hit up red jersey cyclery tomorrow. Although the way I am felling after mount Washington, there is a good chance we are going tubing in the Saco river.
