Att wireless vs Verizon wireless

Anyone currently use ATT for their cell phone service in Northern or Central, New Jersey? I'm thinking about switching from Verizon to ATT and I was wondering how their coverage is in NJ. Do your calls drop off? How is the signal? Any other problems with the service? I've looked at both of their coverage maps and Verizon seems to cover a little bit more especially in some rural NJ areas. Thanks in advance!

I have AT&T, I'm never without service. I think like 2 years ago I was in the Adirondacks and I didn't have service, that was probably the last time I saw no bars on my phone.

I have AT&T, live in Middlesex county. I don't think I've ever lost a call. I've had them my entire cell phone career, never even thought about switching to someone else.

you can get 3g service at the top of gothics, in the ADK.

but i agree with this. good service unless youre really out there.

I have had Verizon since as far back as I can remember (minus 2 years). I switched to ATT when I first got an iPhone ages ago and hated it. Switched back to Verizon as soon as my contract expired.

I don't care who charges what, I want the best service I can get. Call quality shouldn't even have to be a selling point in this day and age. Who has the best data network and widest coverage.

Verizon for life.

that was like 7 years ago. Back then AT&T was spotty. In the last 4 years it's been really flawless. Once all you iphone fags got off my network 😉

I had AT&T since 2009 and Megan convinced me to move over to Verizon recently with her. As far as service goes, Iv'e noticed no difference whatsoever. And I'm on my phone ALOT...

Only shitty thing is that I used to have unlimited data so I really never payed attention to how much I was using. In fact, I never even looked hahaha... Now with Verizon I get charged extra every month for going over 10 gigs. Fuck, last month i used 14 gigs! Should have stayed with AT&T!

the coverage thing is a joke, i hardly leave the tri state area, who cares if i get 4g LTE in wichita

They are all going away from unlimited data. Verizon even figured a way to bump the grandfathered people out.

A co-worker had AT&T and had major issues with texts not going through and data not being available and this was in Ewing, so should be an issue at all. Can't speak for myself, but he was happy to switch to verizon.

I live near a city.. So everyone has signal. Shit, we even get signal in the tunnels now. But working on the road made me switch to Verizon years ago.

Yes, since you will be living in the tri-state area 4-ever.

Funny cause it's true 🙂

I think all the pertinent points have been covered already but it really boils down to your needs, specifically via travel. If you stay local to metro areas any of the big carriers are likely to cover your needs just fine.

If you find yourself in the more rural areas of NJ or the country... well there is a clear leader, although the others have improved noticeably over the past 4 years.

I have ATT. Girlfriend has Verizon. Both of our coverages suck in our house. I don't think either of us have an issue anywhere else.

There are parts in NJ mountain bike trails where I don't get a signal with AT&T. Like some parts near Bear Swamp in Ringwood. Also places in Delaware Water Gap. Also parts of Harriman and Sterling. But it's usually just in some valleys and you just climb up a hill and you get some signal.

I used to carry both a AT&T phone and Verizon phone. Verizon almost always had at least voice even in those remote mountain trail only type locations if that kind of thing matters to you.
