Any scotch/whisky drinkers in here?

I really enjoy a decent whiskey, but holy-hell does it berk up my sleep... worse than other types of alcohol... wine is slightly better... beer is almost as bad.
Bourbon and whiskey did that to me, laid off it for about 6 months. Now having a little neat no problem now.

That's clear liquor for me. Once in a blue I can do a Bloody Mary or a Tom Collins, but otherwise it's the brown stuff for me.

Like what? I don't really have any hard-fast rules yet when it comes to spirits. I'm not sure I've really found anything much darker than this. I don't really "do" mixed drinks very often. I find I tend to drink them too fast. And the only "mix" I do regularly is the Jameson "Cask Mates" stout aged whiskey, which I've found I don't care for neat, but is acceptable mixed 50:50 with water.

Clear liquor messes up my sleep, and the morning after isn't great compared to brown liquor nights.

I will say that I am a HUGE fan of DHM and find that it mitigates both. I find that if I take it during drinking it lessens the buzz from getting to be more than that, and the recovery the next day is better.

My question is what "not-clear" whiskeys do you have? All I have are liqueurs.

DHM looks interesting. I might give it a try, although I've found the effects of alcohol are reduced when I drink a butt load of water during and after drinking since one of the main causes of a hangover is dehydration.

What can I say... I can get sold by a good ad video... especially with some already in me (ordered this on Friday; arrived today).

It's OK... but it's no Buffalo Trace. Slight amount of peat flavor, but not like a good Islay scotch.
