Allaire trail etiquette question?

I always yield to the climber or move over, actually, nowadays I just yield to everyone.

It has taken awhile, but I have accepted the fact that the parks are packed with people and they all play by a different rule book.

There have been a few times someone has stopped to tell me a trail at Allaire is one way - that has always been news to me after being on the trail crew there for almost thirty years now. Enforcing it would be impossible.

Anyone catch the guy shoveling sand off the trail?

While there aren't currently any one way trails at Allaire, I personally think that a trail like Glass should have "One way Saturday" or similar signs posted along with "Exit only on Saturday's" to avoid head on collisions. I've had my fair share of close calls at Allaire and it's generally on crowded weekends while coming around blind corners.

I've sort of just resorted to cooling my jets on days when I know there's a bunch of trail users or not bombing downhills at parks where hikers are prevalent.

Trimming back vegetation and clearing sight lines to help mitigate blind corners used to be a pretty regular part of TM there. The goal was always to make more of the trail more visible without it looking like we did anything, which in turn requires more frequent trimming.

Not much to do right now due to winter, but maybe this spring we can put together a good session and generate a solid group of volunteers to help.

Sounds great @Matt_ , as a matter of fact, nobody has been out on Serpentine since you, JT and crew opened up those nicks and put in that drainage area. Thank you!

I do have a memory, despite what you think. ;*)
