A challenge for Hartshorne riders

Brian...I beat your time and I'm coming to Buffalo to Kick your Ass😀
Stop the Glory Days Crap! :getsome:
This is a funny Thread!

Ok, in 1999 when I graduated the academy, I ran my final PT test at a 4:32 mile pace. So, you have to go to Koslowski Road in Freehold and run six laps (mile and a half) around the Police Academy in 6:48 or under. Do this without getting arrested for trespassing and I'll drink my own beer while marveling at your achievment and wishing I could still run like I could back then.

It's not worth the drive down there for that time. We do the big figure 8 loop nearly as fast during group rides:getsome:

-Jim.

We are obviously talking about 2 very different things then. NO group ride is going to have any kind of speed at Hartshorne.

Do the route I posted and see what your time is, thats all.

i posted my time, why does everyone ignore me! ill go do this again after work to prove all you bitches are weak!

record it using motionX so i have some gps to follow when i'm there and maybe we can turn it into a proper TT

The whole point is, the route you posted no longer exists. Some sections are easier some are harder. Some are just slower.

That Glory days comment was meant to be funny. It's not like I'm sitting here getting agro. that's not my style.

As for the route you posted...come down from Buffalo, bring some Saranac and some wings, we'll show you how much it's changed and give it a try.

I rarely post and I've never been negative towards anyone in a post, but that's about to change....GoBrian, when is the last time you rode Hartshorne? The trails have changed significantly in the past 8 years. there are trees down, logs across the trail, and reroutes. Every one of these obstacles changes the flow of a trail. Furthermore, if you want to offer a challenge, make it comprehendible. I ride about 1,000 miles a year at Hartshorne and I don't know what you're talking about. If you want to celebrate your glory days, go to your HS reunion. If you have a legit challenge, you've got two options: show up at one of the H2H or DH races or get a GPS. In the interim, you should send some beer to the guys that claim to have already beat your time.

What dont you understand about the route ? Let me know how I can make it any clearer.

Fair enough !!!

If anyone can do a current time for that loop and post it that would be great.

I will be in town around the first 2 weeks of Nov. I'll make sure I ride Hartshorne to see how much it has changed.

Let me know if anyone wants me to bring some wings from the Anchor Bar (home of the Buffalo wing).

And one more thing ...... I only meant this to be a friendly challenge.

I thought all the racers in the area would jump at the chance to show they were the fastest at Hartshorne. Is that stupid, yes, but its what racers do.

Again, it was only meant to be a fun challenge.

How do I know you won't try and poison us with the wings? You'd better leave them up north...You mean we're not racing for pink slips? Don't wuss out now....

It's all good fun. Just don't show up in your varsity jacket and make sure you bring plenty of beer for Pearl. I heard the last guy that failed to pay up to Pearl was beaten with a crank (and chain ring).

I've often wished there would be an H2H race at Hartshorne. 1. So I could sleep in and 2. so I could race on my home terrain. Then I took a guy that I race against (but never beat) there and he sat on my rear wheel for 3 hours. It was as humbling an experience to say the least. It's just confirmation that no matter how fast you think you are, there's someone that's faster.

You've obviously never been on, and been dropped on one of Jim's group murderface rides. 😀

We need gps tracks. Otherwise I have no clue what the loop is. You have a gps?

Driving to Hartshorne is literally more of a hassle than driving to the middle of Newark. So I rarely go down there.

Ride the loop in early November and post up a time. If you can do a weekday maybe we can go with McGovern and ride together.

pompous

I'm betting NO ONE can beat that time.

Free beer for the first person who comes within a minute of that time.

Please give James his beer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pom·pous (pmps)
adj.
1. Characterized by excessive self-esteem or exaggerated dignity; pretentious:

Please give James his beer and lock this, I rather read Jim's training thread.

Im guessing you missed the part where I say :
" I thought it would be a fun challenge to the local racers " ?

And as far as being pompous ..... I'm just some guy who used to be pretty fast on a MTB and I happen to be from NJ ...of course of fucking pompous !!!
