2025 NFL Discussion Thread

Indeed. I only watched the highlights video, but it definitely seemed like a repeat of SB 59 with the NFC defense beating up on the AFC offense. The difference being that the Eagles offense last year almost matched their defense, whereas this year the Seahawks offense was "good enough." Similar redemption story with Darnold = Barkley.

Good coaching can turn "good" players into "great" players.

I was really hoping for a no TD's superbowl and they woulda had to give the MVP to Myers
agreed we were having that exact conversation at my friends house last night. The boys looked it up a kicker only won MVP once before during the 1982 strike season and that wasnt even the SB.

in absence of that I think it went to the right guy even if he didnt score a TD was probably the most dynamic player on the field all night.

agreed, but could you imagine if no TDs were scored? it would be tough to say he wasnt the guy

K9 certainly was the next best player on the field, myers outscoured the patriots by himself he the goat

Also thats ex jet/panthers QB superbowl champion sam darnold

kinda makes ya sick

granted he isnt the reason they won, he coulda made em lose tho

Do you remember where you were when the Jets drafted Sam?

I loved him when he was with the Jets. No one really knew what his ceiling was and having only 1 year in college made you wonder.

The seeing ghosts thing was during a game where, leading up to it, they finally looked ready to compete with the Pats and he just completely sucked. It was time for him to move on.
They never gave him any tools to work with or coaches to develop him. Some things never change.

Wait..

and as a side note, Earl Morrall was the back-up when the game started, and had to replace Unitas.
(and I know y'all know who he lost to in SBIII)

So Darnold's slow ascent to the HOF continues.

That list is only relevant post salary cap... Pre salary cap, teams kept actual, good, competent back ups on rosters
