It was annoying but I don't think it made a huge difference. Vendegard was matching podecars sprints. But it was messy with spectators and mopeds yeah.
I think that's probably true but I'd still be pretty annoyed if I were tadej.

Tell me you didn't see the first sprint without telling me...😜It was annoying but I don't think it made a huge difference. Vendegard was matching podecars sprints. But it was messy with spectators and mopeds yeah.
I saw the previous one and sure enough podecar pulled away maybe 30m? Vindegard cant match his power of course but he's every bit as strong in the long run. I didn't realize there was that short a distance left at that point though. Still wouldn't have been more than, what 3-5 seconds difference? Regardless I was as frustrated as anyone to see inteference.Tell me you didn't see the first sprint without telling me...😜
No way in hell would JV have matched that sprint, nor would the 500m been enough for him to claw back TP like he did after the first sprint. He's simply not that kind of racer.
I think the biggest time gap after the first attack was less than 15s, and the distance certainly played to Vingegaard's strength as you said. But if Pogecar doesn't halt that next sprint, he certainly has a better chance of getting the time bonus ahead of Vingegaard because the distance was so much shorter.I saw the previous one and sure enough podecar pulled away maybe 30m? One thing I did not see coming is podecar being the incredible sportsman and somehow the elder staesman of the tour at all of 24 years old. He's gracious, supportive and friendly seemingly all the time. I wasn't a huge fan before but I definitely root for him now over vindegard who I previously preferred just because of sepp kuss. That all said, Vingegaard had great legs today and matched every acceleration. UAE was brilliant today, but Vingegaard was brave and cagey as hell.
Probably made easier by the fact they didn’t have UAE bus access/footage.I didn't make it through very much of the Netflix series on last year's Tour, but I guess they didn't have much of a choice but to portray him as "the villain" in the storytelling. He's seemingly always smiling and pleasant. Pretty hard guy to dislike.
Last year the extended highlights were a full hour. They do a really good job editing, so it felt like you had watched the whole stage. The NBC Sports app has 25 minute versions of the race for free.
I feel like I watched the race while skipping the boring parts.
I guess peoples attention spans are getting shorter and shorter...Probably made easier by the fact they didn’t have UAE bus access/footage.
That said, I’m surprised any team let them on the bus.
I enjoyed the series, and it was a good intro to @MrsManic to help explain the TdF (it’s actually pretty confusing to the uninitiated). Now we’re watching the highlights of the current tour.

They still manage to pack all critical stuff into the shorter timeframe.
Agree. I’ve become a fan of him this tour as well. He just seems like a good dude who is enjoying the ride. I guess 2 TDFs can have that effect on someone. 🙂One thing I did not see coming is podecar being the incredible sportsman and somehow the elder staesman of the tour at all of 24 years old. Rooting for Jonas as well. Being in Copenhagen last year for the depart and seeing such an awesome vibe and celebration for him is still near and dear to my heart. Let’s go Vingegaard! And yes of course Sepp is amazing! There's nothing not to like about Pogacar - from trolling Dan Martin last year to the joy with which he was recounting Wout Van Aert's anger at losing a stage earlier this tour, he's just a goofy young dude who happens to be unbelievably talented as well. While nearly every other tour rider on Strava just goes for vanilla when they post their rides, he actually has personality - after the most recent stage, this was how he posted the ride:

That's awesome. I could totally imagine him just blowing off a ride today to eat fast food and play video games or something (and then he'd still go out and put a beating on everyone tomorrow.)
That said, I'm still actually rooting for Jonas over him in the Tour but only because I want all the insane super domestique work that Sepp has been doing to pay off, and I think serving as the ultimate domestique for two grand tour wins in one season would be remarkable in this day and age. Jumbo really can't pay that dude enough for what he does.
There's Benoit Cosnefroy ...Per the above comments, we’ll need a new Sagan personality to keep it real. Wheelies, signing autographs during the race, jar of cookies, etc. none of that this year, but it’s now 2 years straight a spectator caused a crash, and two this year with still a week to go.
Time trails are largely pretty boring but todays finish was pretty great and may have solidified things for the rest of the tour. Watch the last half hour!
Where the f was that in the highlights? Claimed it was his twin lol. That would be great to see, sprint ahead, get off your bike and chug a beer while you cheer the peloton on, then rejoin the race after they pass lol. There's Benoit Cosnefroy ...
