I gotta remember this for next year. The course was my usual loop every weekend and multiple times during the week in the summer.

Good afternoon- I don’t post often so some of you may not know me, however I do race quite a bit. Having said that, Bearscat is my favorite race of the season. I’ve done it every year since inception. The course and organization keep getting better.
Bearscat is a tough race and requires fitness, the ability to ride rocks, and mental fortitude.
To race 50 miles is tough and just finishing is an accomplishment for many folks.
Therefore many will have more “fun” racing the 25 mile option.
I wholeheartedly believe this is one of the best events NJ mountain biking has to offer. The promoters care about the participants. The course is interesting and well marked. It’s a family friendly venue.
So whether you’re a Lycra clad roadie from Allaire or baggie shorts wearing huckster from Sterling, I encourage you to put this on your calendar for 2020. The course is such that any legitimate mountain biker will have a good time. If you’re not having a good time (I.e. not legitimate mtber) there are plenty of bail out options.
Do Bearscat 2020. I personally guarantee you’ll be glad you did.

Bearscat is awesome, and I had a wonderful time this year! I missed it last year due to injury, but I did it the three years prior, and I hope to do it again next year as well. The course conditions were absolutely amazing, and it's obvious that a ton of work went into the course. Thank you Black Bear for putting so much of yourselves into this race for us!
Thanks to all of the volunteers that gave their time on a beautiful day for us, thanks for the killer BBQ afterwards, and thanks for continuing to put on one of my favorite events of the year! I also really like that's it's moved to September, even if we do lose some participation due to people that would rather ride around on the grass for forty minutes instead 😛

Yea why don’t we just agree to ride together. It seems we keep finding each other anyway lol.
