2016 (Remaining) MTBNJ Events Schedule

There's a total lack of events from Dec--->March. A mini short-track series may be of interest to people possibly along with some sort of gravel-grinder event(s). Not enough fat bike events for the fat bikers.

I threw out the idea of a gravel grinder in the winter at Stewart and everyone basically says "fuck that" even if it would be popular. Which I totally understand.
 
Winter events are weather-dependent.

Also, keep in mind team MTBNJ volunteer hours are being spent building trails that are used in March.

Oh no, that's why I said I 100% understand the "fuck that" attitude. Even if you guys did a race at Stewart in January on all the gravel roads you would need to spend lots of time planning the race, manning the race and then it can all go to shit.

Look at Marty's races the last two years. There's a huge demand for that sort of race but there's no way to properly plan for it and the passion to run one doesn't meet that demand. The only thing I'd say is if there's an easy race (short trackish on the same course over and over) that may work well. Still a PITA ass though but it does get people out and consistency is good.

Probably not going to be here that long, but that is dependent on Art's bones healing in the next 3 weeks.

Unfortunately, I can't do the 13th. I can do the 12th as well as a few other dates. If you or @Norm want to discuss off line...I'm open to helping out.
 
So how's it looking for HPCX get together tomorrow? I am thinking about coming to the race to see everyone!

Then life happens, been working late almost everyday and zero time to ride. Patty works every other weekend so it's 50/50 when these rides drop. I asked Burke awhile ago if he can take the lead since he is head muckty muck ride leader in the area.
