True...but he did still get 5th...wasnt like the ass kicking Schlek took last year.

Yeah, but there is still half the tour left....down 1:53 before even getting to the mountains is huge for Wiggo. It should make for some required attacking by Cadel. It was interesting that the Eurosport annoucers were saying Wiggo likely had to ease off to not get too far ahead of Cadel so then Sky would have to do all of the work to control the pack.

But still 1:43 behind Wiggins and almost 2min behind in overall. Looks like game over unless Wiggins blows up somewhere.

At this point Froome is the biggest danger to Wiggins.

It should be interesting to see if Evans, Nibali, Van Garderen, Menchov, etc try to set up some repeated attacks. The best shot at toppling him may come from someone like Basso, Kloden or Rui Costa taking a shot with a break on say the La Toussuire stage. Go early get a big lead. But really wtf is the difference since Wiggo will have another (longer yet) TT to take more time. He could wind up 4 mins up.

This is the upside, in terms of a spectator. There has to be some fireworks once the mountain stages start. Otherwise he has no shot at all. And fireworks are always fun to watch, no matter which way they play out.

Does anyone else skip the TT stages? The only thing more boring would be watching them ride a trainer.

From a competitive standpoint, I do appreciate what the additional TT's bring to the tour, but from the spectator standpoint, I am not enjoying this new format one bit.

meh

After the pre race chat, I do a decent amount of fast forwarding until I get to the people I want to watch. Great ride by Tejay!

i hope they get outed.

It WOULD be more interesting if being gay made you TT faster than doping.

I'm getting a bit Wigg-d out by his-holy-sideburns' dominance. Looks like SKY put it together correctly this year. They've checked off two of the boxes: team coherence and TT'ing. We'll see though. The big mountains are coming. Tomorrow's gonna hurt bad, but it's a downhill finish, so there's gonna be a chance for the great descenders to catch back up to the skinny kids. Thursday, though, is an uphill finish. And that'll be the last box for SKY to check off. I hope Cadel and TeJay have a rabbit to pull out of their hat.
