2002 Specialized Big Hit $2000

@TTPjake you'll probably get more for it if you build it back up as a park bike with the shiver and at that point similar bikes are going for ~$400.

i owned a 2002 big hit back in the day and it was a dope bike but i bought it in almost mint condition in 2004 for $800. I absolutely loved it but i was also riding it almost exclusively at plattekill, which is what you really should do with this. take off all the new parts and sell them off. put the old stuff back on it and take it to mountain creek as often as you can this summer - it will be a great time, i promise.

Also, just an FYI, looking at your pictures: when you rebuilt your rear triangle you put the chain stay (horizontal piece between the bottom bracket and rear wheel) on upside down which may be why it seems that the rear swingarm is bent. I took mine off 13 foot drops pretty regularly and never bent the rear end so i have pretty good faith in that frame.

Consider this, OP.. would YOU pay $2000 for that bike? If you won't then why would anyone else? If you would then I have a bike to sell you.

Well that's disappointing because I'd have a hard time letting it go at half my asking price. I may just settle on parting it out or just holding on to it. Either way, money down the drain

Me too, and can find more to sell.

rear section of frame "slightly bent" and wrong size rear wheel for the frame are both hard stops for most buyers. There's no way this bike (in this condition) is worth anywhere near what you're asking for it. This bike (mainly the frame) isn't even in fair condition if it's bent. And it's still a 13 year old fork on that thing too. You'd be lucky to get $500 for it.

I think the bike just needs a marketing plan. Maybe bundle it together with your Members only jacket, panasonic 8-track player, Farrah Fawcet poster and shoot some 8x10 glossy shots of the package deal. You could easily get 2 G's if the stuff is mint.

i still doubt the rear is actually bent, i really did kick the living shit out of mine for years and it was never worse for wear; not even a wobble. i think it appears bent because the chain stay is on upside down.

Front fork is actually from 2011 as well as all the upgrades. After looking at the chain stay I think greeek32 is right. After I powder coated the frame, I had no idea how to put th frame back together. That's why I paid good money at a bike shop to have them do it for me. At this point I'm just going to see if anyone will give me $500 for the wheels (I'm gonna start a new the ad in the bits and pieces section), put the chainstay on right side up and get some cheap wheels- 24" in the rear and 26" in the front. At that point I may attempt to sell it at a significantly lower price

do you still have all the stock parts? that bike was dope when it was stock.

the powder coat looks nice, with the shiver and stock wheels, brakes, etc (assuming everything is in good condition) i'd bet you could get ~$400-600 for it which really isn't bad.

Sold Shiver and the wheels. The brakes are still original. The front brakes are laying around the garage as well as the original discs
