Cars, it's electric! Do Do Do

Cars and trucks are not the major source of air pollution or CO2. Something like 6 ocean going container ships spew more pollution per day than all of the 4-wheeled vehicles in the world combined, and there are way more than 6 of them out there. Then theres the most populated countries in the...

Cars, it's electric! Do Do Do

Hydrogen takes more energy to produce than the efficiency you gain. Everything comes from fossil fuels, down to the plastic bodies and interiors that most electric cars are made from. And remind me, what problem are we trying to solve with electric and hydrogen cars?

Cars, it's electric! Do Do Do

Except its not like batteries and charging are new, and the need is not really higher now than it was before. The current technology is stretched to its limit, there needs to be a brand new technology to change the game. I also think battery power is a dead-end. Suppose we all switch to...

Cars, it's electric! Do Do Do

Except computers and the multiple technologies that enable them began to evolve immediately following those room size computers. Contrast that with battery technology (and solar, and wind) that has been evolving at the speed of a slug. What is that big technological revolution that is suddenly...

Cars, it's electric! Do Do Do

I doubt GM will be 100% electric by 2035, unless they want to be bankrupt. Being electric by XX date is the popular thing to say these days, but I don't see it happening by any of the dates they claim.

Cars, it's electric! Do Do Do

They have figured it out (at least Porsche has), the Taycan can turn hard laps till the battery dies. Maybe Tesla should pony up and hire some actual car engineers instead of just using a software update every year to polish up the same old drek?

How the hell are we supposed to retire?

What? You actually believe this shit or are you trying to be ironic? The rich have us fighting with each other and are keeping us from getting "our fair share"? We need more social programs? Yea, ok Lenin.

How the hell are we supposed to retire?

Communists and Socialists. It always starts with villainizing the rich, but guess who always ends up paying (hint, it’s not the rich). And who is considered “rich” always becomes very loosely defined.

    Wheelbase and Head Angle

The solution here is simple. Like Henry Rollins says, don't think about it, do it. Its an easy adjustment. Measure your bike before, install the angleset (or reduce fork travel), ride BEFORE you measure the new setup so you don't have bias. If it feels good keep it.

    E-bikes are a thing

I take offense to this law. If bears and deer can come into my yard, eat my garbage, landscaping, and shit on my lawn, then the least I can do is return the favor. And as a broader question, if e-bikes are so great, why aren’t you starting your kids off on one? Why not let the NICA kids train...

How would you like to pay for bikes with pre-tax dollars?

Those who don't ride a bike to work now, likely won't ride one to work in the future, e-bike or otherwise. Most people don't live a bikeable distance from work, plus the whole working from work thing was slowly fading away prior to COVID, which has just accelerated it.

    E-bikes are a thing

What’s the point? The logic is flawed. The point of going to a bike park is to get as many laps in as possible. If you’re young and in good shape, a lift ticket is the way to go, you’ll get way more laps than on an ebike. If you’re infirm and need an ebike, perhaps bombing down a bike park...

    E-bikes are a thing

If I owned a bike park, this is the last thing I would consider. It’s a bike park, constant uphill traffic when everyone is blasting down isn’t the best idea. Plus why would I specifically build and maintain uphill trails to satisfy a few middle-aged men with disposable income? If you can...

    Going too far … ?

There is no going "too far", that never existed, and never will, its human nature. No matter how extreme someone gets, there will eventually be someone that takes it further. Broken bones, death, etc. won't prevent or discourage anyone, it will just provide additional motivation.

What will the Post "covid bike shortage" market look like

You are 100% correct that it is the older generations fault, they’re the ones responsible for raising your generation to be entitled and soft.
