Tell me where you rode today...

How is that Quietkat? Seems like it would be a good choice for lugging a trailer full of maintenance tools etc.

    E-bikes are a thing

I have gone back and forth several times between SPD and flats and finally got tired of eating dirt or landing on rocks when I couldn't get a pedal to release on time. As my kids would say, "skill issue" and I admit it. I'm no trials rider. I'd rather be able to bail quickly on singletrack -...

    Allamuchy North Conditions

Hiked 517/Waterloo to Ditch/Cardiac loop Saturday. In addition to the tree on the rock garden there is a bunch of new stuff down on Ditch/Cardiac connector just uphill from the switchback and candyass connector intersection. At least 4 or 5 Ash that came down across the trail.

Tell me where you rode today...

Full disclosure-After bailing to avoid crashing several times in the first 200 yards I’m not afraid to admit I walked the rest…😆

Tell me where you rode today...

Yes! I just wish I had figured out that the beach/orange trail wasn't the only way in from the bottom of the hill BEFORE committing to it....That first 1/4 mile rock garden kicked my ass pretty hard! Probably not the best choice recovering from a dislocated shoulder a couple weeks ago.

BRB lot would be just about perfect actually, because I pass right by getting on 10W from Sussex Turnpike almost every day on the way home. I thought I read there was a connection to Canfield by the school but it must be pretty overgrown, I haven't been able to see it driving past. I'll look...

Yeah, I saw mention of parking there but wasn't sure if it was still being "allowed". Which end of the building is trail access typically from? Thanks in advance. That one I knew about - good to know you have to go around the lake first, I was thinking you could go up right past the beach. Does...

I really need to check out the trails here one of these days since I'm in the area every workday. Is there actually an access point/connector off Canfield near the school, or are the beach lots on the north and south ends the preferred access?

ALL E-bike-riders will need to Register and get Insurance

This is true. And it's worse in some ways if you live in a more rural area with space between towns like I do. It will take time to undo decades upon decades of car-centric urban and suburban planning (if we ever get there). However, addressing this is part of the "complete streets" movement...

ALL E-bike-riders will need to Register and get Insurance

This may not be a popular viewpoint on an enthusiast site, but I'm going to respectfully disagree. As a landscape architect in the site/civil/planning/transportation industry, working with a focus on resiliency and sustainability, my perspective is that literally ANYTHING you can do to get...

    Motorcycles.... where do i start?

I'm going to add another endorsement for taking an MSF or similar rider education course. I did, almost 25 years ago when it was free, but I'd gladly pay a reasonable amount for it. I grew up riding ATCs (yes, ATCs, 3 wheels) and dirt bikes. The bike handling skills carry over from dirt riding...
