Pivot is having a demo day at Cedar Grove. I've been on a Switchblade and really want to try out a Firebird. However I suspect, this may not be a great venue to get a true flavor of the bike. I'm in CT and my only NJ experiences have been a Mayhem race in Medford, Allamuchy and Chimney Rock.

Appreciate the suggestions, while trailforks is useful... often the trail conditions are not up to date. Similar situation a couple weeks ago when I had a trip to Boston... ended up stoping at Vietnam and it was great.

No preference… throw out some suggestions. Allamuchy, northern side, was on the short list. I hoped to hit Wiss while down in Medford, but that’s looking like a bust for me.

Heading down to NJ to attend Mayhem this weekend... visiting some friends in Woodbridge on the way back home. Looking for a riding spot within 45'ish minutes this Sunday (3/27). Obviously trails conditions will dictate location. Something with tech, flow, more than just plain XC.

Already registered and I just got a response back from the organizer stating an email with details goes out the night before...

Any updates? This is the network of trails north of I-80, correct? Planning on visiting friends in Woodbridge this weekend and Allamuchy was recommended. Shooting for a Sunday ride.

Do they publish/email a schedule for the day? On BikeReg I see the "times" of the various categories... how is registration, race brief, etc... dealt with?

By the time I got home, I missed the registration deadline... probably for the better. I'll try to visit when the weather is better. Taking Friday off to fit in a local ride as we are getting hit with snow/rain as well in CT saturday.

That's a good point on traffic... like I said above, lots of natural trails, tight twisty, rocks, roots, features, some up/downs, some manicured. Places like Rockhouse, Quillian Reserve, Indian Ledge (trumbull), Paugussett (upper/lower), West Rock, etc... Any day on the bike is good... just...
