    Car-spotting thread

That sounds like about 3hr for a pro, which definitely reaches PITA status for me at home!

    Gas powered bikes?

I'll be there with my Commando, assuming I get it up to snuff. Been working other projects.

The engine mount is common. PITA to replace.

    Tariffs...what to make of them.

Putting tariffs on everything that goes into manufacturing wasn't too helpful either.

    Car-spotting thread

There was a Mitsubishi Bravo kei van in Fair Haven when I picked up my daughter's car the other day. My friend Drew did some work on it. Owned by MTBer GregK.

    Tariffs...what to make of them.

I posted this earlier, when I was on furlough, regarding unemployment payments:

What have you done to your car today?

My leaking PS saga has come to a close. I gave it to my friend Drew at Foreign Cars of Monmouth. "Yeah, it was missing a seal". "WHAT??!?" Apparently there's a seal that MB doesn't stock separately and comes with the pump if bought from MB. I have no idea why it was missing on my car but at...

Bring a Trailer - OMFG or On Topic

I see a Jetta-based one at NJMP occasionally. The owner told me it went together really quickly. That particular one is a little rough but there wasn't anything fundamentally bad about it.

What have you done to your car today?

New hose. Still leaks. I have a new pump on hand but nothing looks wrong with the existing one. I'm handing it to my friend Drew. "Please fix this". It needs an alignment anyway.

    Tariffs...what to make of them.

I'm genuinely curious if that post was positive and approving. What were the comments like? NFW I'm signing up to read them.

What have you done to your car today?

I'm starting to think maybe a crack in the fitting. I don't see anything, of course, but it wouldn't take much. The MB parts pictures are maddening for the PS system. There are two part numbers for - apparently - the same part. One is labeled "high-pressure line" and costs $300. The other is an...

What have you done to your car today?

I have no idea. Are you thinking that maybe something failed? I found someone on zuckerbook with the exact problem last spring but no follow-up and I have to be approved to post to the group, which is a 50/50 proposition in my experience. Fingers crossed.

What have you done to your car today?

Well, this thing continues to piss me off on my daughter's SLK250. I replaced the o-ring and it still leaks. As soon as I start the car, it starts seeping. The manual helpfully suggests "replace o-ring" whenever you pull the line. I'm beginning to wonder if there's another o-ring that gets...

What have you done to your car today?

So.... Today I spent some time cleaning the hell out of everything, put some parts back on, then I started up the car and moved the steering wheel back and forth. To my great embarassement, it looks like a $5 o-ring responsible for the leak. Dumbass. I had convinced myself that it was OK.

Right? She was very excited when we got it.

What have you done to your car today?

Not quite yet! She doesn't even have a permit even though she's old enough. Kids... It's a '15 that we picked up from my dad in FL late last summer and road tripped home. My parents gave me a 1984 Chevy Celebrity when I graduated college.

What have you done to your car today?

I've been pulling the power steering pump on my daughter's 2015 SLK250 for about 10 days now. :) I stare at it, curse a little, stare at it some more. The engine bay can hold a 5.5L V8 but somehow a 1.8L 4 fills the entire space. My hand is all cut up from loosening the air pipe to the...

    New E-bike legislation in NJ

That dredged up an old memory. I registered my Fuji with my town police (Hackettstown) when I was a kid. I don't think it was required, it was so I might have a chance of getting it back if it was stolen.

    E-bikes are a thing

We have a local guy who people were flagging as being on an e-bike when he showed up. He was not, he was simply a beast. I wonder if he got any KOMs pulled.
