July 11 1hr, 42 min The roads were a lot drier than the trails, so I did a road loop around Stephens State Park - through what I might call Allamuchy Valley.

July 10 1hr, 30 min. Slow and easy ride with my wife. This mailbox has some teeth on it! Perhaps their next upgrade will be to make the mailbox post resemble a toothbrush.

July 9 1hr, 55min Early ride (for me) in the light rain right until the heavy rainstorms rolled in. It was so nice to ride in light rain instead of in searing heat. I made it home minutes before the sky opened up and poured for hours.

July 8 2hr, 1 min Afternoon MTB at Stephens State Park. I started from the top, and did a mostly clock-wise loop. The mosquitos were brutal and it was very hot and humid. The trails up top were dry, but seemed a bit damp. The creeks were calm, not really flowing.

July 7 2hr, 19min I saw an extreme number of deer today. Like - multiple deer herds and various singles around almost every other corner. I even saw 2 fawns nursing on the road, which is probably the weirdest thing I’ve seen while cycling in quite a while. Then, I saw these 2 bucks in a...

July 6 1hr, 27min. I had to ride early in order to get a ride in as I was going to be out of town all day traveling down to Point Pleasant for lunch. It was actually a bit cool at 7:30am, although it quickly warmed up by 9am. I was also fortunate to ride before the air quality deteriorated...

July 5 2hr, 21 min Seemed too humid to be in the woods, so I sought relief in the wind on the road, and I still felt cooked from the heat.

July 4 - Happy Independence Day! 1 hr, 10 min. Avoided the heavy downpours, often by just a few minutes (i.e. before or after rained along the route).

July 3 2hr, 27 min. I figured I'd check out the action at Lake Hopatcong on Monday July 3. It's been a while since I circled most of the lake, so I set out in a counter-clockwise direction.

Coincidentally, there may be some yellow paint nearby that is being used for marking the locations of future natural gas lines.

July 2 1hr, 57 min. I spent most of this slow ride dodging pop-up thunderstorms, but they never popped (up) when/where I was.

July 1 1 hr, 11 min I stopped at my local library to pickup some stuff, then carried it in a backpack for another 14 miles. Wasn't my plan, but I had to pickup about 5 minutes before the library closed for the long holiday weekend. I've heard of a land shark, but not a land submarine.

Maybe the elevation "gain" could have been as high as 50 or 57 feet if a bridge (over the highway) was part of the route.

March 17 2:25 + 30 Halloween Bonus ----- 2hr, 55min A horde of skeleton bearded leprechauns. And a unicorn ridden by a meat-bag bearded leprechaun. The rain didn’t start until I got into the magical Frog Hollow 🐸, and then the magic continued after I passed through the Hollow

    Bad Driving

A lot of them go to the left lane when they get on the highway and sit in the left-most lane until they need to exit. Ostensibly, they don't want to deal with people merging on and off the highway. They can set their cruise control and they only have to deal with the vehicles behind them...

March 9 2:57 + 30 Halloween bonus ----- 3hr, 27 minutes The swirling winds didn't seem to bother the skeletons with their Guinness Stout. I guess the winds went right through them.
