I'll be out blowing this weekend... I'll swing by with the CS.

Biggest crash in stock market history?

Can we change the name of this thread to Worst stock market crash... and 401k plans. I've been doing matching contributions for years. We have nearly a 75% participation rate and the employer contributions (me) get large pretty quickly. It's also a great opportunity for the ownership to take...

DH Bike Choices aka pushing the limits to the N+1 rule

YES! Did both on my Remedy and was just like "this isn't going to work in fast mode". A light bulb goes off and thinks "now I know why people have DH bikes." I've watched many videos of people on that line and Jeff is on point with every landing. Too many people go too deep and which leads...

DH Bike Choices aka pushing the limits to the N+1 rule

Oh and I do have a goal. I want to ride Fort Hill at Thunder Mtn without completely soiling my pants and leaving on a stretcher. I'm fairly certain this is more mind over matter. I know people that have run the entire line and I'm pretty sure I can ride with them anywhere. Of course, that...

DH Bike Choices aka pushing the limits to the N+1 rule

@UtahJoe This thread is about N+1. At this point, I think the Slash is my typical goto for Creek. I'll put the Remedy back to trail duty (change the tires back to something a little less heavy). And then have the DH for those days when I just want to rip the gnar OR if I decide to race the...

DH Bike Choices aka pushing the limits to the N+1 rule

My goal is to not get hurt. I already invested in a good helmet and pads. I've been looking at the neck and back things; that will be part of the DH purchase. Like @mattybfat said it's not if it's when. But my analogy would not be to "getting hurt"; I like to think it as {not IF I'm going to...

DH Bike Choices aka pushing the limits to the N+1 rule

I made my first DH park trip (with intention) in September. As expected, I've been to Creek almost every weekend since that first trip to Killington. I'm addicted. 2 months ago I was debating getting the new Trek Supercaliber. Well, forget that, I'm going to the other end of the spectrum...

    New to Wildcat, route suggestions

I have an enduro layout but it takes about 20miles to hit it all. If you left from my house... 1) Down part of Beach Glenn (blue) east towards race track. 2) Mjolnir (ends before telemark brook). 3) Hudsonia Overlook to Hermod 4) Part of KDM woods road (from Upper Hibernia to stream - short...

    New to Wildcat, route suggestions

It's actually a great climb. No parts are really steep and the turns are better climbing than going down (very tight). The initial loop described works well either way. The issue most people have at WC is that there are many trail junctions with only of the 3 choices being the "right" way...

    Wildcat Ridge WMA Conditions

Reminder!!! Wildcat IS a WMA. Which means hunting. I’ve seen the recent story about someone shot and killed at Nox. Avoid riding Saturdays especially early and late in the day. Where blaze orange, get a bell, or just ride somewhere else. Stay safe.

Can you have fun at Mountain Creek if you can't jump well?

I live 35 mins from Creek. I have been riding mountain bikes longer than a good percentage of people on board have been alive. I went to Mtn Creek for the first 2 weeks ago and went right back the next weekend. The easy trails are fine for anyone with reasonable skills to enjoy them without...

    Wilcat East tour Tuesday

"Wildcat Wednesday on Tuesday but more rocks and climbing" would have been better.

Who wants to build a Bike Park?

The 800 lb Gorilla is the potential liability issue on personal property. I had a neighbor sue us because their kid fell off a zip line in our yard; he broke his arm. I had to use Lloyds of London for homeowner's insurance for 3 years before anyone would take us again, plus the depositions...

Who wants to build a Bike Park?

I was thinking this the whole time reading this thread. Now, this coming from someone that has lived 35 mins away for the last 12 years and just went the first time this past weekend. Why, have, I, NOT, done, THIS, before??? The funny thing is, I ran into a few people that said they haven't...

Who wants to build a Bike Park?

The Waughaw Mountain Greenway borders on the area where Mountain Ave Park is in Pompton Plains... It's really on the other side of Brookvalley from Pyramid. Remember when those dudes were up there and opened a water valve that flooded the whole mountainside (early 80's). We used to ride that...

    Wild Cat Wednesday!

I'll admit it.... last night hurt a little. We should know better than to listen to @JimN (well ok, maybe I said White Climb too).

    Hinesburg Town Forest, VT

Check here... https://www.skisleepyhollow.com/butternut-cabin-camping/ The trails go out the back door and connect to HTF & Carse The proprietors are very cool people and if they are not having an event typically let people use the lean-tos. My sister had her wedding there it was AWESOME!
