Mercer County Park Conditions

@TAS and I removed several downed and dead trees yesterday on the Blue trail and the Grail trail. Again, if you come across any downed trees, please let us know. Thanks!

I have been informed that Upper Blue is a mess with multiple trees down. Also, two large trees down near the tennis center.

The trial loop by Hughes Dr. and Youngs Rd. that has the connector to yellow though the flood plain is open.

Rode a good portion of the park today. Trails in great shape! Thanks trail crue!

I was at the park over the weekend with my XC bike. It’s very flat and sandy. Other than that one section near the tennis courts, it has little in the way of climbs or descents.

Lots of itchy balls on the ground which could make for some squirrely handling. I don’t know if I’ll bring my bike with me the next time I’m here. I will say the views of the lake are scenic and the rowing teams add something unique to the park.

The park might not be for you but trail crews work hard for those that do enjoy it

Interesting. I don't think I've ever heard someone call Mercer "sandy" before. Flat, rooty, thorny, yes but not sandy, lol. It is flat so you are always pedalling! And there are only two spots with some elevation change: near the tennis center and on the backside of the damn by the spillway. I usually get about 400-500 feet of elevation gain when I do the whole park. And the spiky balls seem particularly numerous this year for sure. We're working on it. Bring your rake next time. 😁

I would call Mercer sandy, it is why it is so good in the shoulder seasons! Thanks for the work as always!

I'm a fan. Just finished a ride picking thru the rocks and bombing down the descents at Mercer haha. Flat? Where else can you pedal 21 miles with less than 400 ft of elevation gain? Mercer is pedaly fun.
