1:34 hr Z2 ride https://www.strava.com/activities/17535301742

It was supposed to be an easy/relaxed ride. Coach added "breath through your nose only" and I ended up being miserable the whole ride. I felt I was drowning. I thought (and wished) that my HR was going to be out of Z2 quickly and that would give me an excuse to open my mouth but somehow both, power and HR stayed in range, and I had to suck it up.

These are my last two rides of BIYF. I'm heading to Colorado tomorrow to ski for the weekend. It's been fun.

2/24 Attempted Frenchtown Preserve on fattie. It was actually a lot of fun, but rode up Creek Rd (which is now fully open) to burn some calories.

2/26 After sitting in a courtroom for 3 hours this morning, I was getting skeptical that I was going to get in a ride. Did it though, managed to ride and pack and do all the normal BS involved in traveling. The only downside of traveling now a days is leaving this old lady. Everytime I travel I'm worried she won't be here when I return.🙁

Back on Zwift for a boring Z2 session to flush the legs after my Rower session yesterday. I set a new PR for my pace/time for 5000 meters on the rower so I feel like all the off bike cross training is working but yeah my legs were a little like jelly after that one. Will do some more recovery later since tomorrow planning a longer ride because its gonna be nice out - good way to wrap up Feb training.

Watched another episode of Slow Horses on ATV this morning which fit the time of my ride nearly perfect.

2/28. Denise came out of hibernation and did her 1st ride since the broken arm in late October. Also her 1st time with a dropper.

we cut it short becuase dad started to get a flat front tire because DAD needs to replace the shitty bent valve and hasn't yet.

2/28 Fitness test part 1 https://www.strava.com/activities/17557242197

Base line test as I'm starting with a coach that uses other data and algorithms besides FTP in his training plans. The protocol is kind of long/complicated so I screwed up in a couple of places. Part of the baseline data was getting a DEXA scan. I thought the Garmin Index was pretty good at fat% but it turns out it was 42% off. Good news is that it was over the real value. 13% is pretty good, now, if I can only put some muscle in my legs, that would be great.

I’ll trade you. My fat is at 16% but I have enough leg muscle to go around.

Great way to wrap up the month. One of those days were the plan all comes together and I had great legs right from the start. Did a 23 mile solo loop before the group ride then did the 47 with the group. We had about 16 people and some good pacelines and then split off into groups I went with the slightly faster group and felt terrific. If we didn’t start the group ride at 11am I felt like I had plenty left in the tank for more miles. But I was starving for some real food so went home.

Had to do the pump sprayer hot water soap and rinse the bike when I got back it was just filthy.
