Bad Driving

This seems to be my theme lately
Riding a lot of road on my gravel bike because convenience ongoing theme lately is vehicles coming off side streets to turn left in front of me looking left as they're rolling to the stop with seemingly no intention of stopping see me at the last second as I'm locking them up and pointing at them with a certain pointer finger
Why look left if turning left?

On the way back from NJMP last night I was on 55N behind a guy on a dirtbike-type thing. Sat behind him for 10-15 minutes cruising at 70ish. Could see that he only had his right hand on the grip the whole time, couldn't see his left. Figured he was just resting it on the tank or his hip or something. When I finally passed him I saw that he had a phone mounted to the bars and was texting/scrolling with his left hand the whole time, occasionally glancing up at traffic ahead.

I don't know, that kinda sounds like good driving. Stupid obviously, but impressive he’s still alive, as that’s probably not his first time doing that.

Hah. "Yesterday" = "Sunday" when you post on Monday. Heard the NASA event was huge. 300 cars?
Yea it was a big event. I don't know how many cars in total but 300 sounds about right. The HPDE groups were normal sized, but the race groups were huge. After working/driving two straight days plus the heat I was absolutely smoked when I got home Sunday night.

Not sure if this belongs here or the Frown thread.

7:05AM and someone is pounding on our doorbell. Wife is in the shower, I'm (was) sleeping. Open the door for a guy from a local paving company who is repaving a neighbor's driveway. (Note, town ordinance says no work before 8AM). In an attempt at doing a 3 point turn into the block that is perpendicular to my street and car, he wedged himself about 6"off my Thule rack and couldn't figure out how to go forward or backward without hitting my car.

After moving my car I congratulated him on being the first driver in the 28 years I've lived here that couldn't make a 3 point turn here.
