    Cushetunk Mt Preserve Conditions

I was there too today (did I pass you by the mud pond?), the trails on Cush were in great shape except for the trees noted, and the grassy sections were a bit muddy, but great for most of the trail. Still can’t beat my PR from two years ago on the RV full climb Strava segment

    Sourlands Mountain Preserve Conditions

Tons of trees down. Rode yesterday, rocks were in awesome shape, but getting muddy in some of the low spots. About 5 x 10” logs on the lower + outer trail. A big tree on riverbed connector near pipeline.

    “Best” Trail bike?

Yeah I have a 160/160 enduro bike, which is awesome descending but on climbs is a little long and slack, but the kind of riding I do is mostly flatter trails or up and down, so that’s why I want the shorter travel and something easier to get up techy punchy climbs. Need to convince my...

    “Best” Trail bike?

Thanks yeah I’m on an enduro bike now, feeling a little overbiked on the climbs and sharp turns I’m normally riding. Great on descents… the Ripley demo i did felt awesome, but haven’t tried others yet.

    “Best” Trail bike?

I’ve heard good things about the Spur. I demoed the Element in 2021, not sure I liked it as much as the Ripley, they all have little differences, still a great bike. Thanks

    “Best” Trail bike?

Thanks, Agreed, definitely want to hear some opinions about what else to demo. Now that I’m 2.5 years in, thinking it’s a serious enough hobby to put down some real $. Probably not Ibis Exie money, but in the neighborhood of half that, which is still a decent carbon bike.

    “Best” Trail bike?

Started really riding in 2020 and bought a Polygon Siskiu N9. After two years on my Enduro bike and thousands in upgrades, it’s running great, but I’ve decided something a little better at climbing would be beneficial for the kind of riding I typically do here in NJ (Chimney Rock is one of my...

    New rider - Trails??

A lot of trails in New Jersey are kinda janky and it helps to have a full squish bike so you can just plow over rocks and roots, but not necessary. Starting on HT is what I did, plenty of capability at a much better price until you know you’re into it.

    New rider - Trails??

If you enjoy mountain biking , Stephen’s is always a favorite, with lots of trails to choose from. (Park at Kinney Rd near the big gate, not at the actual “Stephen’s state park” down the street). Pretty good mix of well maintained mostly smooth intermediate trails, with a few more advanced...

    Chimney Rock Conditions

Was there this evening, primo. Leaves are variable but in most places only a thin layer. No problem hitting everything on this route. Almost no mud (tiny bit on white), blue was in great shape.
