Weight is a major issue with the disc brake rule. I've read mixed reviews on this subject, all ranging from "better stopping power = faster speeds" to "hot disc rotors near my legs = bad" to weight. If you think about it, 'cross frames will need to have stronger seat stays to accommodate...
