    “Pro’s” tech

Yea, but the idea is to have the tech trickle down to street bikes. For example, the twin spar frame and steering geometry from the RGV500 made it into the SRAD, which was a game changing bike in 96.

    Car-spotting thread

The people who buy these, you're giving them exactly what they want by taking pictures, etc. They're "look at me" attention whores that can't afford a Lava Orange Aventador.

    Sobriety- Alcohol vs ice cream?

Actually, it can kill you. My buddy from college liked to eat. Always ate out, at the wrong times (late), and was a big dessert man. No meal was complete without dessert. He was also a 2 pints of ice cream per day man, in between everything else. He justified all of this because he was fat...

    Sub 6 minute mile?

You're going to have a hard time hitting your objective with just 2 days of running. Running a fast mile is more of a strength than stamina thing, and you're using different muscles between running and biking. You really need to strengthen your core and hamstrings. You also need to hit the...

    Sub 6 minute mile?

If you drink cabbage soup the only thing you’ll be breaking is wind and earning a night on the couch so you don’t Dutch Oven your better half to death. You’re a brave man if you pour that DIPA on your ice cream, but be a pioneer, plant the flag.

    Sub 6 minute mile?

A fast mile these days is almost a sprint. To run some of the times the fastest HS kids are running you need to be hitting 62 second 400's. Its as much of a strength thing as an endurance thing. Last week after a day of skiing waist-deep powder up in VT, I poured Guinness over a bowl of...

    Sub 6 minute mile?

Commitment is the key here, I think his goal is totally doable by the end of the year, but will be work. Willing to bet his biggest obstacle is leg strength and not cardio. Building up slowly is key, stay away from early speed. Blow out a hamstring and its game over. Form is also important to...

    Sobriety- Alcohol vs ice cream?

The ultra-endurance guys try to go keto leading up to their events so that they can fuel off of fat during. A gram of fat releases more joules of energy than a gram of sugar. Most marathon runners are just drinking, they have no time to eat when they're running a 5min. mile pace. I don't know...

    Any scotch/whisky drinkers in here?

Unless you really need the money, I'd say drink and enjoy it in good company. Life is short.

Long term, you're correct. The thing with sugar is that is more of a volume thing than source thing. Excessive sugar is really what is making people obese, because carbs and sugar are in just about all processed foods. If you pound 4 Twix bars or a pint of ice cream and then continue sitting...

    Sobriety- Alcohol vs ice cream?

No serious athlete fuels themselves off of candy, that's a quick hit and then a fade. They've conditioned their bodies to rely primarily on glycogen (from carbs) or fat. If you're a long-distance athlete, conditioning your body to burn fat will fuel you for longer.

    Sub 6 minute mile?

Almost all HS athletes are on spikes. You shouldn't train in spikes, spikes only come on for the race or when you plan on going for your PR. To be competitive in HS, you need to be sub 4:20, the top guys are running 4:15 or less and should be sub 4:10 by MOC in June. If you're serious, you...

    Sobriety- Alcohol vs ice cream?

You need sugar to survive. Those 30 ATP that come from one molecule of glucose during oxidative phosphorylation is what keeps your legs pedaling, heart pumping, etc. If you live a sedentary lifestyle, all that sugar just spikes insulin and eventually gets stored as fat. The worst of it...

Don't sleep on The Crown. Crown, lemonade, ice, and some fresh mint makes a killer summertime drink.

Weller does like their screw tops for some reason. Nothing like paying $300 for a bottle of 12, and it comes with a screw top.
