27.5+ dying??

One of these days, would like to slap on 27.5 on the RDO and try places like 6miles. I think it might be more fun than 29.
Remember when people actually rode Niners?

I think full sus 27+ bikes are slowly going away. Don't need the extra cushion of plus and mid plus 2.6 29ers provide all the traction you really need. It still makes sense on a Hardtail and for that I love my b+ Hardtail. Definitely not full sus but at 14psi, the roots and hard edges get decently smoothed over and has tons of grip for the slop. My 2.8 minions will tractor up and grip anything short of a mossy plank bridge.

3" 27.5 is dead.

2.5" 27.5 is thriving. Plus tires sound like a good idea but in reality they're crap, it's like peddling a fat bike(clown car).

I'd say the industry just figured out that we don't need/want plus tires. 2.5, 2.6 is wide enough on a 27.5 tire.

Right now 27.5 bikes have solidified there place and have gotten more popular, with SC and Pivot both offering models that are playful options to a 29er. They have broken the mold of a wheel swapping 29/27.5 bike to a dedicated 27.5 or 29er.

Seems to be splitting hairs at this point. I started out at 27.5 3", then went to 2.8", now 2.6". 2.6" is no longer "plus"?

The industry is “outthinking” itself into oblivion. Which is a real shame as so many components are light years ahead of where they were 5 years ago.

It might serve them better if rather than reinvent the mousetrap, some thought was given to actually baiting it.

Just a thought.
