also, bonus +1 statue, maybe? not sure if it's still valid as of 2/1 (sorry - to lazy to go back into the archives) or if this counts as a person - will defer to the BIYF counsel of elders...

anyway, incredible hulk...full disclosure, copied from WIKI....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulk

The Hulk is a fictional superhero appearing in publications by the American publisher Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in the debut issue of The Incredible Hulk (May 1962). In his comic book appearances, the character is both the Hulk, a green-skinned, hulking and muscular humanoid possessing a vast degree of physical strength, and his alter ego Dr. Robert Bruce Banner, a physically weak, socially withdrawn, and emotionally reserved physicist, the two existing as independent personalities and resenting of the other.

Bonus: +1 Thomas Paine

Thomas Paine (born Thomas Pain[1]) (February 9, 1737 [O.S. January 29, 1736][Note 1] – June 8, 1809) was an English-born American political activist, philosopher, political theorist, and revolutionary. He authored the two most influential pamphlets at the start of the American Revolution and inspired the patriots in 1776 to declare independence from Great Britain.[2] His ideas reflected Enlightenment-era ideals of transnational human rights.[3] Historian Saul K. Padover described him as "a corsetmaker by trade, a journalist by profession, and a propagandist by inclination".[4]

Day 2

My feet ache before I even start as if they had been run over. Unfortunately this is no longer unusual for me. All the logistics worked yesterday so just do it over. Two water bottles and two bars. Garmin in the back pocket (locked).

Going head out the same way I returned yesterday and thus avoid the OuterRingRoad ride of death. Quickly got to the scene of the prior days festival and all was quiet. Large number of people sleeping out of the sidewalk but I assume that is a regular thing. Was tough to get a pre-dawn picture of the juggernaut due to the lighting but it was impressive ( @Juggernaut ? )

A whole collection of 20’-30’ festival signs all lit up.

In addition many of the building had strands of hanging lights draping the front from roof to ground. Very cool looking.

Over shot my northward turn and decided rather than doubling back to wing it and take the tiny dirt/paved back roads instead. Turned out to be a great idea. Some of the paved bits had nicer pavement than the roads I had been on. Pretty freaky when the road squeezes down to 8’ wide and you squeak through a little collection of houses. Lifestock, farm produce and people washing and cooking. Everyone looked completely freaked out at me. Kids gape and adults glare ( no way to take pics, maybe a GoPro next time ) after the 100,000th speed bump you almost don’t notice them. Almost.

The 18 jillion temples you do completely tune as it seems like there are only a few different designs over and over and over and over.

I absolutely did not feel too good by the time I made it to the base of Nandi mostly imagining how my feel ( and now wrists ) would be feeling towards the end of the ride. Stuffed the bike in granny gear and just puttered up the hill. About 10% up there was a police checkpoint and I passed through and rounded a corner about 50-60 locals had their scooters/motorcycles pulled over and all seemed to be on their cell phone. It would appear that folks were being ticketed for not enough helmets ( often two adults and one small child and zero helmets ) I assume they were trying to find someone to bring the helmets. Ground my way to the top and by this time the one issue with the bike was a huge pain. Chain must never in its life ever been lubed, endless grinding sounds.

Happier at the top, rolled down in a bit of traffic and bought 2 liters of water at the bottom.

Ground back to BLR just wanting it to end which it did right on schedule. Got my pedals
and managed to get an Uber to almost get me to the hotel.

Roasty hot walk the final bit wearing my shoes and carrying all my crap.

These are amazing rides. I'm surprised to hear they even have helmet laws there, when you see how many people getting stuffed in those trikes and in bikes
