At the polling location this morning. The gentleman ahead of me, is dressed in a suit and by how beat up his hands are, I'm guessing he doesn't wear this suit to work. He has his sons with him, they are speaking rough English, mixed with their native language. The voting machine seems new to him and he asks for help. He finally emerges from the booth, he is smiling, his head is held high and he pats his sons on their shoulders. He is proud to have voted. Proud to be an American. Was this his first vote as an American? I give a smile and a nod. He smiles and says.....?
 
I've been voting for 20 years now (motto: if you don't vote you can't bitch&moan later).
I will take the kids with me for the first time so they can see what it's all about.
I will be smiling at their enjoyment, not what I am offered as democracy.
Just gotta keep my 10-year old from blurting out his opinion or my vote.
The man likes to share, in second grade he told the crossing guard he was wearing new underwear his mom got him.

If all those sports are fixed, then yes that's an apt analogy. It's more like Harlem Globetrotters vs Washington Generals.

We are the Washington Generals. President has been selected long before today.
 
I stopped at our voting location at the beginning of my ride, figuring at 11:15 no one would be there - wrong! Stood in line in my tights for 15 minutes - all red of course
