Your weekend in pics, for you, from you. What you got?

So we're entering the "drive time" of winter. Just another few weeks and we can say we're approaching the halfway point. Before long we'll be dreaming of spring & the short track races.

This is from Friday. My actual weekend was 2 rides in the dark so nothing much of note. This was a decent pic at Chimney Rock:

I rode with some friends on some trails down near Media, PA. A couple of them posted some pics on Facebook. I'll try to grab the one of us walking across a frozen creek.

sadly this was spur of the moment, good deal area, i had no time to take off my snow tires 🙁 0/2 vs lukes family

Spent the weekend watching my oldest do her thing. No real good action shots, I had to hold my little girl so she could see.

I literally did not take a picture all weekend....But I did get out to ride at mahlon both mornings. Went out to dinner a couple of times...My wife had to work sat/sun so that means I spend all day and night keeping my son entertained..In between that, I wired my house and garage so that I will have roku/computer/ant on all of my TVs and I can get rid of my cable TV. .I did take this video...I REALLY hesitated posting it because I dont want sleeveless Joe to murder me...All I can say is that it was totally random that a store clerk handed my son a Green Bay balloon.

please explain how to do this. i have a personal vendetta against comcast right now. our cable fails all the time and i am sick and tired of paying as much as i do for such a sub-par service. its gotten to the point that whenever i am home (which is not very common this time of year) i send a tweet to comcast with the error message on the screen. i have a prime membership and only use it for the shipping and feel like i am missing out on the video end of things.

is it difficult to cut the cable? i think the only other provider in my area is centurylink.

Utah, who is your internet provider? They two times I looked into axing TV my bill was only going to drop like $10-$15 going from the bundled rate to internet only. Doesn't make any sense once you add some streaming subscriptions.

Once there is a solution for live sports I'll probably do it anyway.

So with the HD antenna: Ran it below my living room to a powered splitter, will hook it into the previously used cable wires to each room.

My computer. I have an HTPC in my living room that has an HDMI out. Run out my living room floor below to a 4 way splitter, then HDMI cable up to my bedroom, kitchen, living room. I have a little keyboard mouse or the mouse app for my phone to control it.

I have two Roku's, one Roku 3 that is split between my living room and bedroom TV, one Roku stick in my kitchen. Ill probably run a network cable out to my garage and hook up my old wireless router and put another out there eventually.

But with the HD antenna I can pick up 63 channels, granted like 33 of them in spanish, but I can get 2-13 and watch live football locally. Anything else, roku/internet has it somewhere.

It all depends on how much TV you watch.
But slingbox/dish network is now offering a pretty decent package for internet based TV.

its mainly for the kids. my wife an i usually only sit down to watch a movie. i can live without watching live sports. i should be doing something else with my time anyway. and whenever i go to veg out in front of the TV, i get annoyed with what's on.

I'm one year in since cutting the cable.
I didn't have service issues, just hated the bill every month- what we paid for and actually used were 2 entirely different things. Dropped triple-play and kept internets.
I had to stick with Time Warner, they really are the only game in town, but that has been fine- no service issues.
Got a Mohu for over the air HD to cover network access, and then the rest is Roku/Plex.
Have not explored Prime video, but have plenty to chose from on Netflix.
I do have a friend who lets me use his access to HBO, Showtime and importantly ESPN on my Roku. These are nice to have, but I would still be cable-free without them.
Saved $1700 in the past year. I like that.
