Maurice rode a killer race yesterday at Nittany cross. Saw him start mid pack in a field of 100+ and work his way up to third. That guy is unbelievable!
No, foco beat him. I think Monty won but I'm not positive. There was only one more section of climbing, and it wasn't long, and it was tight. I can't seem much passing happening after where I was.
I have no idea how the pro guys pass each other though, they are so close in speed. Do you just wait for the one guy to trip up a bit?
Yea he got me. I was riding strong for the first two laps going back and forth with Jason Clark with Roger in sight and just started to fade on the last lap. I think it was more due to the lack of drinking/feeding spots. It was really hard to get nutrition/hydration in on such a rough course. I still finished pretty strong but 21 seconds from 2nd and 19 seconds from 3rd. 4th was good for me as I kept my overall lead in the series and actually opened it up a bit. Just happy keeping all my blood inside me.
On another note the last official word about Mike Kucharski is that he had a pretty bad laceration to his hip that resulted in a good amount of blood loss and a broken pelvis. He's going into surgery shortly to repair it. Send all of your good vibes his way. He's going to need it.
