Six Mile Time Trial Throwdown - Beat My Time

I think it was me, Maurice and Ryan. You were there. It was chilly. We had coffee and donuts

Yeah, I didn't remember Jake which is why I asked about "we":

I read some of that, and apparently Jake showed, and Maurice rode his bike briefly.

We need more of this stuff. I like the idea of these TT courses. We should throw these together somehow in the offseason to keep people going. Maybe have a full winter unofficial series or something.

Any suggestions on how to put it all together?

a little volunteerism maybe? for a mid-winter TT (unofficial of course) get some people to volunteer who would be willing to go out early one day, set markers, and maybe keep time for a handful of folks. i think we need to keep the numbers below a certain threshold to avoid having to officially get the parks involved.

PS - i'd be willing to do that for a mid-winter day, at least set markers or something.

So I had to drive down to forked river this morning. I packed my epic with me in case I had time to finally check out six mile.....Got there around 3:30 and gave it a go. Wow, fun place!

attempt 1:

Moving time: 1:22:30

Although I totally forgot to check which direction we are supposed to go at the fork in the trail. I went right (so CCW if you are looking at the map) and then over the metal bridge. im sure that was answered somewhere in here, but im not digging through 10 pages to find it. So I could have done that part backwards.
Dont think anyone is touching tonys time, certainly not me.

Dumbass, lol 😀

I didn't make up any rules for the direction of travel, so this counts yo. That's a great time for first time out.

But what the hell did you do, stop for lunch??

Updated!

Starting a new thread for starts.
And maybe getting a think tank together, to see who can help were?
What trails would be the best to ride in the winter time..
Just some ideas..

Sweet, although I fully intend to return and do it the correct way.

Many times to try and find the trail, at road crossings and what not. 4-5 times for groups of hikers, crashed coming out of a river bed...my front tire was low when I started...I forgot to check it and I rolled it off the rim and ate it. Had to fix that.

Holy crap Wally, take it easy!

And you must have levitated for some part of the ride cause your elevation change is 2600 feet!

Updated.

😕 why doesn't anybody (maybe not everyone, but alot) have elevation correction on??

maybe I'm really not that fast ..i just have the the right settings on😀

I have the electronic saviness of a caveman. I just found out about a month ago how to get the auto pause to work. Thanks M3Tim!

Last update from me for a while:

While on a leisurely ride on 8/17 with a friend and my brother I endo'd and broke my left clavicle.

Keep safe out there everyone and keep pushing those times. I still have a goal of going sub 1:30 this year.

Get better soon. I broke mine snowboarding once.

There is a lesson here, no ride at 6m should be leisurely! 😀

Didn't we try this???

One difference was it required people to show up at the same time.
We should organize this logically on the site. Each thread title should be consistent: TT - Park - Route, e.g. TT - Tourne - West side hill climb. Then the TT sponsor is responsible for keeping times on the first post (along with course description). I like the idea of keeping these under 15 miles and even some prologue lengths seem very cool. ooh 3 categories - TT - HC, TT - P, TT - LC, hill climb, prologue and long course respectively.

So I went out on my CX bike this morning. I found out how much I suck 🙁

I was all over the place! Great practice though.

Anyways, I didn't beat my MTB time, but I think I can next time.

Moving Time: 01:22:04
Elapsed Time: 01:22:44
Avg Moving Speed: 10.6 mph
Max Speed: 24.8 mph

I'm going to start a beat my cross bike time thing on the first page.
