JORBA: Six Mile Run
JORBA.ORG
JORBA is offering chainsaw training this Saturday and Sunday. There's no cost, but you must be a JORBA member and affiliated with a park or chapter.

Saturday will be in the classroom at the Mine Hill Township Community Center and Sunday will be in the field at Dickerson Mine Preserve.

Lunch will be provided. You need to have your own chainsaw and safety equipment (helmet with visor, ear protection, chainsaw chaps, gloves, and sturdy shoes).

There are 3 available spots, first come first served.

DM me if interested.

Ah bummer I’d be all over this, but out of town.
Happy saws!

I can lend chaps and a helmet if someone wants to jump in.

one of my best take-aways was to only work in 2 or 3 person teams. the sawyer must know where everyone is at all times,
communicate intentions and responsibilities (ie stop traffic, pull rope, etc.)

Rebound/spring, and a couple other finer notes were interesting.
chainsaw maintenance was good too. how to sharpen.

Unfortunately will be away, besides don't have any safety equipment
I can lend chaps and a helmet if someone wants to jump in.

For anyone interested but holding back because they don't have PPE or a saw, this is not a problem.
Folks tend to bring extra if they have them, and you'll be taking turns on the field day, so equipment is easily shared.

I'll be patiently waiting for when these come up in January or February when weekends are a little less demanding.
