Going Long and Hard.

Rode to PT. Let the ladies torture me for an hour. Rode back!! 5-miles outside. Bike Month Challenge starts at the end of the week, I’m on Gary’s Team. Remember Gary!!?? He’s my captain now. Max weekly mileage per person is limited to 300 to stop anyone from just logging rides like the assclown from the Ohio shop. Actually good for me because 300 might be a good effort at this point because I suck now.

Anywho, I ziptied a cardboard tube to hold my cane. There’s more than 1 engineer in this household.

Blender progress. It's a cut apple. I think I'm getting close to maybe finishing this at some point.

7-week follow-up. Did not get clearance from the Ortho to go back to work, although I’ve been given clearance to resume activities as I feel appropriate. He suggested at least wait until 8-weeks to resume actual riding outside for real. 10-weeks return to work part-time with limits. 12-weeks full-time.

I did drive myself to PT. Washed the car. Drove to Costco to get glasses. Drove to Ortho.

Someone didn’t take the 8-week suggestion.

Plus the trainer in the morning so I did almost 30-miles yesterday. Unfortunately being outside sucking in pollen for the first time this year I got hit pretty hard with allergies and paid for it dearly. I don’t usually have reactions because I’m always outside and get used to it but this was like all in at once.

8-Miles and PT so far this morning. Gonna chill for a bit and see where the day takes me.

Saturday.

No ride but I volunteered for the Hackettstown 200/300k. Only a couple people finished during my shift, first finisher for the 200k did it in 7:07. Was the kid I rode with during the Niagara 600k. 2nd was just under 8-hours and was Josh, the creator of Wordle. I showed him how good I am at his game and he was not impressed…

Sunday.

Rode with a couple MTCC folks training for a bikepacking ride in a few weeks. It was slow AF but a good group to get back into a little. Did 4-hours and felt good so I might push a 100k this week because they usually take me 4-hours.

Monday.

PT. The ladies really worked me this morning. I think I’m 1/2 way through so, progression?

Had lunch with some peeps in Summit and hung out at the shop for a couple hours. Place looks like a bomb hit it 😂

Tried to bring stuff up the stairs and generally get around without tripping over anything and confirmed there’s zero possibility of going back before I’m 100% or my 12-weeks is up, whichever comes second.

7-weeks and 6 days - Took out the road bike for a quick 2 hour test to see if I can clip in/out and sit in this position. Felt great. Except I still can’t really walk very well after I ride for a bit so doing longer rides will be hard because I can’t get snacks. I can use my Hydropack and bring enough snacks to probably do a 200k?

Also came home to a box of new test parts, which is something a little different from this camp.
