The 2025 Lawn Thread

Don’t do it, my neighbor got one and he had to mow twice a week or the grass was high enough choke the mower out. Not sure what brand it was but it was green.

I thought the mower ran continuously - or as needed. there is an upcharge for the grass-o-meter.
I need a fleet.

I went battery for the trimmer and leaf blower probably about 6 years ago. I much prefer it that way, 2 cycle just reeks. I mulch most of my leaves so the blower is just to clean off the paved areas, and in the fall to get the leaves out of the corners etc. It’s also nice to clean off the deck without smelling exhaust afterwards.

That said, I’m not sure how a battery mower would hold up to the leaf mulching.

I have the ego+ chainsaw, hedge trimmer and weed wacker, the battries are next level and have heard good things about their mowers

I got the Milwaukee 24" trimmer two weeks ago, after using a 40yo Black & decker corded forever. The thing just wouldn't die, but since I got a Milwaukee weed Wacker last year, not having to buy a battery seemed like a good deal vs hauling 200ft of orange extension cords around.

Say this every year, when the forsythia blooms, lay your pre-emergents. After that it will likely be too late to control the crabgrass. Only do the front for the last ten years, b/c doggo

We are paying someone for the first time to do our treatments. I usually only do one spring treatment and always cheap out and not buy enough. So the hope is the crab grass and clover stay a bay

I’m looking at the forsythia blooming, and struggling to find a time slot to get it done. and concluding it’s not happening this year lol

I'm the only guy on the block who still does their own yard work, so I'm also the guy with the Redmax 8000 series on weekends disturbing the peace. Electric? That would take twice as long...
Landscapers DNGAF in my hood, they come 7 days a week. I still hear those guys outside at 7:45 last night.
