2024 Dickerson Mine Endurance

Great run race. Ended up 28th of 139, I was ecstatic to hit my goal of 5 laps everything else was just house money after that.

New start was definitely better, Yellow was a bit of a poop show that first lap...not sure there's much you can do there. That CW climb up Green is a kick in the nuts at 28 miles. Challenging course with a little bit of everything. Excited for next year.

I hope the guy promoting the Ringwood December 5th race was there today and paying attention. I got a flyer on my windshield so I assume he was….

This was a perfectly run event. Great course, well organized, cool after party.

Great event! Well done to the Marty's crew. Felt like the start worked a lot better than last year.

I made my usual mistake of starting way too far back and got caught up in all sorts of nonsense, then wasn't aggressive enough about making passes. Managed to push on laps 3 and 4 to a mid pack finish, missing out on a fifth lap by about 6 minutes. Lesson learned, don't start behind the guy in the turtle costume.

Holy cow, 5 laps and you were 28th. What was your time and how many laps was winner? Great effort, I'm going to try and make this next year

Anyone know who the photographer was that set up on Marty's trail? I sent it over a rock like it was red bull rampage, hoping they got my 2ft of air
Haha same! It may be better not seeing the pic and realizing it was only 6" ...

Last year they collaborated all photos and sent a link...

That would be Matt, he's part of the Marty's club ride on Wednesday nights. I'll see if I can get a link from him for the shots. He took a few thousand pics that day, hope he caught me in the air at that rock too !!!

If you're carrying 10 mph average on a rocky technical course I'd call that pretty pointy. It's all relative, this was a local race but those guys tend to do very well in big races as well.

7 guys finished 5 laps (31ish miles) in sub 3 hours. Pretty quick.

So UCI MTB world cup type riders? Think I got it. If I’m not mistaken last year during the rain there were also 5 lap riders.

I mean obviously there are several huge levels above the riders that win local races if that's what you're asking. And they did 6 laps total, just 5 before the course cut off at 3 hours. I'm sure Keegan would do 6 or 7.

For reference the guy who finished 3rd (and flatted) finished 10th overall in Unbound XL this year so not bad whatsoever.

Close, but actually older.

As someone who is a year older than the winner at 56y/o, I'm not looking to jump into the Open class in any event....yet. I'm actually a faster rider/racer now and over the last 3yrs with my fitness journey. So it is possible

Not sure if this is some kind of "racing age" thing but I'm shown as a year older than I actually am. I'm only recently coming to grips with being 44 so seeing that 45 number on there is a real kick in the nuts. On the plus side, looks like I'm still too young to be winning these things so everyone should look out for my name on the top of the results sheet in 10 years.
