What have you done to your bike today?

OK, I did this today. After pulling everything out and realizing the tires aren’t going to be easy to swap around, I bought a cheap pair of Roval wheels to mount the system on.

Install was actually super easy, everything went on by hand with no tools. However I clogged the valve immediately sucking up some Stan’s chunks into the syringe and had to take everything apart to clean the valve. That took 2 people and all of the tools. Definitely zero percent chance of changing a tire on the road. The “run-flat” noodle better work. The tires are super thick though, like a tubeless Gatorskin. Even has the same brown cross hatched sidewalls.

I stopped there and didn’t actually finish rebuilding my Roubaix because I’m also gonna swap the Red group into it and really make that my main bike as Fall approaches. The Allez can get hung up for a while.

Just about to turn 50 and have come to the conclusion that the Trillion Dollar Corporations using the earth as their personal dumping and pillaging grounds will always undo whatever good a pee-on like me can do. And like 90% of the population believes going vegetarian does nothing for the environment so, I just give up. No more recycling, I throw trash on the side of the road during rides, put my used motor oil in the normal garbage,

That is outrageous when with little effort you could be making a big difference...it science, Popular Science.

I remember as a kid in the 70's they used to spray used motor oil on the dirt lots a a big farmers market and 2 local stock car tracks to keep the dust down

Should it stay or should it go now? @ChrisG

I’ve owned over a hundred bikes over the past 29 years while owning my shop.

This Yo Eddy is what I came in with and the only bike I’ve kept. Customer is interested in it. I’m torn as I’ll never ride it.

First of all great refence...

As a hoarder I would say keep it for the obvious sentimental value, but the fact that you're asking kind of tell me you already decided, which is great! Make sure to ask the right price though.

I left my baby and I feel so bad
Guess my race is run
She's the best girl that I've ever had...

also appears to apply...

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried
Don't let them in, don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know
Well, now they know

Wow. I still remember following the sound of that hub through Hartshorne.

But I’ll add another vote for letting it go/passing it along. I’m settled on doing the same with my two Santa Cruz Bontragers.

I’m not sure I want a Rudy on my gravel bike enough to buy one and I’m not sure I like the suspension stem idea so…

I decided to prototype a 30mm travel air shaft assembly to convert my old Reba to Rudy Specs. Or pretty close. Axle to Crown on the Warakin is 420mm and this thing I made is 425mm so it’s close enough.

I’ll need to do a host of other mods like swapping a post mount caliper to Rival and possibly lacing up a Boost Gravel wheel, but for now I’m just gonna run my 29er wheel with Gravel tires and see what happens. Or if it even actually works.
