Every dollar of e-bike builds is in the frame. That build for a 60 lb e-bike is crazzzzy.

If you get a lesser known bike like the the Bulls, are the ebike parts repairable if the bike company goes out of business? With the all the firmware updates I'd be concerned if not.

Also thoughts on falls and crashes on a much heavier ebike vs analog. Was speaking with @Bike N Gear yesterday about his fall at the CR guard rail climb and wonder if the weight of his Levo might have caused a faster and harder fall, resulting in a broken arm. On a lighter bike, I'm usually able to jump off to a safe landing, but won't a heavier bike take you down faster and harder to escape from a crash?

My E-bike definitely caused this crash. If I only had an analog bike I wouldn't have been stupid enough to be MTB'g at CR on a 90+degree day with the humidity we've been having.

And going up the guardrail climb.

Also yes to Walter. I crashed once on the eBike and it's different. Sort of like, "Ok this moose I am riding is slowly tipping over and there's not much I can do about it OH FUCK THAT HURTS."

So it goes.

I'd agree with that. I think you may experience some strange e-bike related falls while climbing, but generally due to user-error. Crashes while descending can be a case of "once this beast starts pointing in a direction you don't want to go, it may be difficult reign it back on line." Then you may have a 40-50 lb bike land on you... That was the case with my crash back on July 1. I'm not sure I wouldn't have had the same crash on one of my normal bikes, but it might have been different. Over a month later and my ribs are still sore.

Check out the specs on this thing:

Especially the weight. 😳
This is literally blurring the lines of an e-moto lol. 20mph with a throttle, 28mph with pedaling. And yeesh almost 70lbs.

Not a fan of hub motors, tail heavy to the extreme.

As for the bulls, I look at it as a Frameset with a drive unit and battery. Bulls is a big name in the Uk.

Went into Lowes to buy weed killer, walked out with his and hers e-bikes. 😂😂

No price and heavy as f*** …without batteries. These things are everywhere!

I watched a kid almost get flattened by an 18 wheeler when the brakes on his fat e-bike wouldn't stop him at an intersection. Tried stopping with his feet, then gave up and just hit the throttle and crossed the path of the truck by inches. Looked like a movie stunt. I'm sure both the rider and the driver had to clean their shorts.

So 160mm mechanical disc brakes with worn pads and poorly adjusted cables aren't powerful enough to stop a 70 lb bike going 28 mph?
🤔
