Although it looks like it was abandoned here this guy pulled into the trail head as I was about to leave. May be the original owner. Took a few minutes to get out with his hiking poles to go hike up one of the busiest downhill bike trails in the area.
When I say I would find a Beetle interesting at the right price, no fucking way I'd want to own one of these deathtraps. This one sounded like shit and another day of rust away from collapsing.

My car's been up on ramps since March as my dad got sick and eventually passed in May. But I finally finished an oil change and located the source of a fluid leak (power steering) then tried to align the alternator wheel to the rest of the parts hooked to the serpentine belt. It's actually not going to spacer out easily and will be hard to remove the bracket as it's a bottom mount. Slapped it back on and will monitor if it travels. Needs a new belt soon anyway so maybe that will solve the problem. Took it for a spin to get a fresh tanks of Exxon super and DexCool from AutoZone. Damn this makes a lot of squeaks and rattles. Haha

I did. Beat you to it by a day! Kind of a weird one. It's a 2008 with like 8k miles, which isn't necessarily that desirable in these cars, let alone the premium that they have it listed for.
We just passed 3 years with the car. Need to go get a $450 oil change soon.
I like the SLK55 AMG P30 cars. Don't think i'd go for a straight up SLK

Its going to be $650, you forgot about the Porch tax. Maybe you also get a nice cup of espresso out of it also.
If you're interested, there's a guy on YouTube that shows you just how easy it is in the Cayman/Boxster. But that will piss you off even more when Porch people try to convince you that is complicated.

would be into it for $40-50 diy. I think the Boxster has a couple of must-replace gaskets/o-rings.
Then ya need to dump the oil, and bring the filter to hazardous waste day.
Other than the hack dumping oil on the exhaust manifold (I don't know how you do this with a filling nozzle)
and the chance they leave the cap or plug off.......totally worth it.
I dont know, I have seen/heard too many jiffy lube horror stories, i'd rather just do it myself.

I just spent $110 at Valvoline and now thinking about doing them myself again. This was over 5 qts synthetic, I think last time was only $75 and before that I was doing dealer but out of warranty now.
