So Kona is evidently swimming process full suspension bikes.

Here is a deal that doesn't come along every day. Just the parts kits might be worth it??

I just ask that you have them shipped to Halters Cycles:

That's crazy. And the mid-spec SLX model is $5500 for 2. Wow... Forwarded to a buddy who has been waffling about getting a new bike.

Yeah but it's a Kona. Who wants two meh bikes?
Kona has a pretty solid following.

I rode the 134 in Squamish for a few days and had a memorable time.

The 24" version is also well liked.

I'm just busting. If I had the money, I would jump on this deal to get my sons each a new bike.

I havent had a kona for myself, but my son's kona process 24...to me is one of the best, most versatile bikes I have ever seen....highly recommend it for anyone looking for a kids bike that can handle triathlons and also hit the dominion jumps at creek.

I've heard Internet rumors of bike companies with warehouses filled with extra inventory. Guess it's actually true in Kona's case. What a deal if you need a bike and like what they offer.

Always super confused why companies dump product due to some made up model year business plan? Like, just keep the bike in the line-up and call it a 2024, who would ever know? Specialized currently has 3 generations of Tarmac as 2024 models.

they incremental cost is zero, so all the money is profit (looking at the whole batch of bikes)
and they've already committed to the following year's order (like a year ago?)

the room they are taking up costs money
the longer they sit the less they are worth

maybe a more profitable move would be to harvest everything off the bike and fire sale the frames ???
but that is labor intensive and in the US....

I was wondering this too... I know they can't sell the parts, but could they use older parts on next years model?

In my early DH days, Kona made some badass bikes. I’ve seen a few since then and don’t think they dropped their standards. If I was in the bike market, I would jump at this!!!

If you see people come in the shop to dump last years model for this years then that is the reason why. They don't want a bike, they want the newest bike. Hype sells.

I think they wait until a refresh is out, at least here they do. New model comes out and there’s a few dozen people that will come in and buy them. The arbitrary color change or whatever between years doesn’t do anything for sales…
